The best things about the Super Bowl aren’t just the game and half-time show – they’re the commercials. Super Bowl XLVIII was no exception, with plenty of heartwarming, funny and much-talked-about ads. (Bob Dylan hawking Chrysler? Really?!)

These were some of our favorite Super Bowl commercials featuring dogs. What were yours?

Budweiser’s “Puppy Love”

This was the most popular Super Bowl commercial by a landslide, and not just among dog lovers.

The spot, featuring a cute puppy and his Clydesdale BFF, earned the top spot on USA Today’s 2014 Ad Meter, was voted the best by people watching on Hulu, and has been viewed more than 38 million times on YouTube.

Whether you’re watching it for the first or 15th time, grab a tissue and enjoy.

Subaru’s “What’s the Fuss About?”

Face it, hilarity is bound to ensue at the image of a dog driving a car (except when it happens in real life), and Subaru’s commercials featuring the “Barkley” family of Golden Retrievers delivered the laughs.

Doritos’ “Cowboy Kid”

This second-place winner of the Doritos “Crash the Super Bowl” contest was created by Amber and David Gill of Ladera Ranch, Calif. It features a 5-year-old boy riding his Mastiff, Lone Ranger style, to lasso some Doritos away from his brother.

Let’s just hope this doesn’t encourage kids to try riding their dogs, which could do some serious spinal damage. And the pooch snacking on Doritos? Not such a good idea.

Audi’s “Doberhuahua”

At first we were ready to put this commercial on our “Worst” list. Promoting a pet store and designer breeds? Ugh. Portraying Chihuahuas and Dobermans as, respectively, yappy and vicious? Double ugh.

But perhaps Audi was just poking fun at breed stereotypes (as well as ASPCA spokeswoman Sarah McLachlan’s hard-to-watch PSA). And at the end of the ad, the couple does end up adopting a dog from a shelter.

What do you think – does “Doberhuahua” deserve a paws up or down?
