Leading independent business law firm Hall & Wilcox has made two senior appointments to grow its corporate and projects presence in the Sydney market and add further depth of expertise nationally.

Paul O’Donnell joins the firm’s Projects team as a partner with a focus on the energy and resources sector.

Paul has extensive experience in the development of energy projects and acquisitions, energy trading and regulation, with a particular focus on renewable energy. Paul’s clients include companies from throughout the energy sector in Australia and internationally.

Before joining Hall & Wilcox, Paul was previously a partner at HWL Ebsworth, General Counsel for Novatec Solar, based in Germany, and a partner in Clayton Utz’s Energy & Resources team.

The firm also recently welcomed Caroline Raw as a senior associate in the firm’s Corporate & Commercial team.

Caroline has over 11 years’ experience advising public companies and funds with a range of corporate transactions, corporate governance and compliance. Her experience includes roles as in-house counsel and group company secretary for two ASX-listed entities.

Caroline will work closely with Sydney-based partners Danny Herceg and Jacqui Barrett as well as the broader national Corporate & Commercial team.

Hall & Wilcox Managing Partner, Tony Macvean commented that “Paul brings a wealth of experience to our national energy and projects capability generally, while Caroline adds further senior depth to the Sydney Corporate & Commercial team.

“Both Paul and Caroline’s appointments form part of the firm’s broader strategy to continue to build its commercial footprint across all offices.”
