The IALD is pleased to welcome the following Professional-level members to the IALD.

IALD Professional membership is available to architectural lighting designers who have at least five years of experience in the field in the role of senior designer or above in an independent consulting practice. IALD members worldwide must meet the highest educational and ethical standards in order to belong to this prestigious community, and are accepted as Professional members on the strength of their portfolios and recommendations.

HYOJEONG LEE, IALD

Since 2008, HyoJeong Lee has been a senior associate lighting designer at Syska Hennessy Group in the Greater New York City area. Prior to joining Syska, HyoJeong worked as a lighting designer and project manager at OneluxStudio in NYC. HyoJeong received a Master of Art degree in Architectural Lighting Design from Parson School of Design in New York, NY USA, a Master of Science degree in Architectural Interior Design from Pratt Institute in New York, NY USA and Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Hongik University in Mapo-gu, Seoul Korea.

With over 14 years of professional architectural lighting design experience and a background in art and architecture, HyoJeong’s international portfolio spans from corporate, retail, hospitality, and recreational to museum and education institutions. She has collaborated with international leading architectural firms including Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, Skidmore, and Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM).

HyoJeong is an active member of the Illumination Engineering Society of North America (IESNA), the Urban Green of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) New York and the International Dark-Sky Association. Her design work has been published in Korea Light&Interior Design magazines. She has participated in various exhibitions for her art and design works.

Donn is Director of Electrolight, an independent lighting design studio with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, London and San Francisco. A leader in the field of lighting, Donn’s track record in delivering some of the past decades most celebrated projects is testament to his reputation in the industry.

With backgrounds in both visual arts and engineering, coupled with a deep passion for lighting, Donn’s insight drives his team toward modernism of illumination design in the built environment and the world of light art. His approach has gained the respect of his peers, affirmed by multiple awards including an Australian Institute of Architects 2015 NSW Architecture Awards – IALD Lighting Prize; two Supreme Brilliance Awards for Lighting Design Projects of the Year; nine Illuminating engineering Society of Australia and New Zealand Limited (IESANZ) Awards of Excellence; and numerous commendations.

Delivering hundreds of projects during his career, his most recent include the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Berriedale, TAS Australia; Pier One Sydney Harbour in Sydney, NSW Australia; Corrs Chambers Westgarth in Melbourne, VIC Australia; Saké in Double Bay, NSW Australia; and Wollongong Central shopping center in Wollongong, NSW Australia.
