Free-to-play computer games are becoming increasingly common, and Combat Arms brings a first person shooter in the style of Counter-Strike to the mix. Originally released in 2008, this PC only game was developed by Doobic Studios, a Korean company. Primarily a multiplayer game, Combat Arms features online gameplay, with no single-player campaign or offline modes of any sort. A similar mode is Last Man Standing, though there are no respawns, and the last person alive wins the match. A mode unique to Combat Arms download is called Spy Hunt. Players begin on the same side, with the objective of securing Intel that’s been scattered all over the level. NX currency and the Black Market go hand in hand. NX Cash, or Nexon Cash, can only be obtained by spending actual money, and it is the vehicle for in-game purchases. There are also a few other methods for procuring NX, such as purchasing game cards or participating in surveys. This currency is used to buy equipment in a special shop called the Black Market. This gives players the chance to buy weapons that are more powerful, so they can gain a competitive edge. Special items can be purchased as well, such as Mercenaries, which are characters that the player can use to battle for them. While NX buyers do get an advantage with improved weapons and equipment, GP-only players can even the odds by using advanced Combat Arms Cheats.
Even without a single player mode, Combat Arms comes with a nearly infinite amount of gameplay possibilities.
