Kriti Sanon is an actress and model working in the Indian entertainment industry. She is currently in the news as being the lead actress in the debut movie of actor Jackie Shroff’s son Tiger Shroff. The film is titled ‘Heropanti’ and is slated to release towards the end of May 2014.
Sanon had a lot of success as a model. Hence, just like all models, she wanted to eventually crossover into acting. Kriti debuted as an actress in the Tollywood film titled ‘1: Nenokkadine,’ opposite Mahesh Babu the Telugu superstar. It was a psychological thriller helmed by director Sukumar. Heropanti is the debut of Kriti into the Hindi film industry. The film is currently in post-production stage.
Biography
Kriti Sanon was born in New Delhi on 27th July 1990. All the members of her family are professionals; her father Rahul Sanon works as a Chartered Accountant while her mom, Geeta Sanon, works in Delhi University as an Associate Professor. Kriti also has a younger sister named Nupur Sanon.
Kriti finished her schooling from the R.K. Puram based Delhi Public School. She later attended college at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology and graduated as a Bachelor of Technology majoring in Electronics.
The 5’8″ diva is also a trained Kathak dancer. In her free time, Sanon likes to write poems which she is very fond of. Her other favorites include Chinese cuisine and Goa as a holiday destination. Kriti is currently focused on her career and is not in a relationship with anyone.
Career
Modelling: Kriti has featured in several advertisements and commercials on television for numerous different brands like Himalaya Face Wash, Amul, Samsung, Close-Up, and Vivel. Her debut project as a model was a print ad for clothing giant Reliance Trends.
In 2010, Sanon walked the ramp in Mumbai at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. The following year she featured at the India International Jewelry week and was also one of the top models at the Chennai International Fashion week. Kriti has been a favorite of several well-known Indian designers and has most frequently worked with Niki Mahajan, Ritu Beri, and Suneet Varma.
Acting:Kriti first worked as an actress in the Telugu film 1: Nenokkadine. She was paired with Tollywood star Mahesh Babu in the film. Sanon played the character of Sameera, a news reporter, in this film.Upon release, the movie had a mixed response from the public as well as critics. It did average business in the Indian market but was a blockbuster at the overseas box office. Sanon’s performance generally met with praise from the critics. A Times of India reviewer was really impressed by the beauty and screen presence of Kriti and stated that her acting was also up to the mark.A critic at Deccan Chronicle was also blown away by the performance of Sanon and described her acting as almost being similar to a veteran. Sify.com was however not that praiseful of Kriti. The reviewer accepted that she was pretty in the movie, but her portrayal of the character was average.
Acting debut in Bollywood
Sanon debuts in mainstream Hindi cinema along with another newbie actor Tiger Shroff in the film ‘Heropanti.’This film has been showcased as an action-filled, coming of age, love story. As per reports, the movie is supposedly a remake of the 1983 Jackie Shroff starrer ‘Hero.’
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and helmed by Sabbir Khan, Heropanti is the romantic story of Dimpy and Bablu, wherein Dimpy’s character is essayed by Sanon.The male and female leads come from two different warring clans. Tiger will be seen portraying a rough and tough character just like his ‘Hero’ father.
‘Whistle Raja’ was the first song of Heropanti that was released to the public. It has become very popular. The director has dedicated this song to the flute sellers and players who have kept alive this mellifluous ‘dhun’ for nearly 30 years. He maintains that the tune would have been long forgotten if it was not for them.
The movie’s trailer was inaugurated by Aamir Khan. It contained some slow-mo sequences wherein Tiger is seen fighting with some goons. It also offered glimpses of Kriti’s immense beauty and acting prowess. The trailer was widely appreciated by the viewers who gave it a five stars rating.
Heropanti has a kissing scene between the two main leads. It occurs in the song titled ‘Raat Bhar.’ The song is vibrant and zingy. It has been very well captured in a nightclub location. If not for anything, audiences are bound to check out the film just to see the gorgeous Kriti lock lips with Tiger. The gorgeous actress believes that kissing is fine as long as it is integral to the plot. Kriti Sanon has also kissed Mahesh Babu in the movie ‘One’.
Future work
After Heropanti, Kriti can be seen opposite Allu Arjun in a Telugu movie directed by Trivikram. According to grapevine, the movie will feature two other actresses who romance the male lead.
