TomTom Telematics (Amsterdam) a provider of telematics solutions for insurers and other industries, has announced a partnership with Sage, a provider of cloud-based accounting software. The collaboration combines the TomTom WEBFLEET fleet management service and Sage Live to deliver real-time accounting for companies with fleets of vehicles. The combined solution will allow Sage Live customers to automatically view fleet data from connected vehicles, including trucks, light commercial vehicles and passenger cars, according to a TomTom statement.

“By partnering with Sage, we are helping to create a more modern and responsive accounting environment, one that capitalizes on cloud technology and the connected car to drive cost savings for our customers,” comments Thomas Schmidt, Managing Director, TomTom Telematics. “The new software integration will offer a vital service for companies that don’t necessarily need to track and trace their sales or engineering teams on a map, but are interested in getting other core vehicle data into their financial systems.”

The new integration is aimed at all business between 10 and 200 employees that have a small or large fleet, and who want more accountability for their vehicles, according to Sarah Schweiger, a spokesperson for TomTom. “The new app will offer a vital service for companies that don’t necessarily need to track and trace their sales or engineering teams on a map, but are interested in getting other core vehicle data into their financial system,” she says.

Harnessing the Power of the Connected Car

“Partnering with TomTom Telematics allows us to harness the power of the connected car for accounting purposes,” comments Jennifer Warawa, EVP of Product Marketing at Sage. “It also reinforces Sage’s position as the most innovative cloud accounting platform on the market. Providing real-time accounting for vehicle fleets helps make the process more transparent and convenient, and puts companies in greater control of their finances.”
