By way of the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC), ArtsWORK Indiana has received funding for several statewide initiatives from the National Arts and Disability Center and the National Endowment for the Arts. An initial grant partially supported our well-attended "Forum on Careers in the Arts" in 2004, with follow-up grants in subsequent years to develop this website, sponsor a series of career skills workshops in 6 cities and, in 2010, establish two regional satellite groups. The National Assembly of State Arts Agencies presented the 2009 National Access Leadership Award to the IAC in recognition of ArtsWORK Indiana’s accomplishments. Through a competitive individual grant process, the IAC re-distributed the cash award accompanying this honor to 14 Indiana artists with disabilities.
