It’s been a long couple of years since English quartet Dutch Uncles have graced the pages of IHM. As they gear up to release their new album Big Balloon later this month, we eagerly welcome them back via Streetlight, a vivid display of these lads’ mathy arresting mixture of prog pop and art rock. Streetlight begins with rapid pulses akin to The Who before a swanky dance rock groove and Wild Beasts meets Hot Chip like silky smooth vocals kick in. It’s quite the sultry inebriating affair that also channels an abundance of Bowie. As it turns out, Dutch Uncles’ new album Big Balloon takes inspiration from Bowie’s Low and Kate Bush’s The Red Shoes. The album arrives on February 17th via Memphis Industries.
