The Alabama Radio Network and WERC Seeks Part-Time State News Anchor in Birmingham.

iHeartMedia’s ARN and WERC in Birmingham are now looking for our next state-wide morning news anchor for the Alabama Radio Network. The position requires someone who can work autonomously early mornings 5 days a week to write and produce network newscasts for ARN and also file reports that will air inside WERC’s newscasts as well. While this is a part-time job, the shift’s hours are very consistent. Previous radio news experience is preferred, but we are willing to train if you have enough of the skill sets listed below to make you a quick study.

Required Skills

* You must have a professional sounding news delivery.
* You must exercise good news-judgement and copy writing ability.
* You should always remain aware of all state and national news.
* You should be social media savvy.
* You must be quick with Cool-edit (Adobe Audition)
* Experience with RCS Newsbuilder and NexGen is helpful.
* You must be able to work independently
* You must be reliable and dependable.
* You must have a positive attitude, a desire to learn and grow and to help our team provide the most compelling news content possible at all times.
