What Is It

Making tea can be a bit of a pain. After all, most people make a full pot of it, and then you have the pressure to make sure you drink it all before the tea starts degrading. Plus, it can be hard to take your tea on-the-go because the tea will start to cool down and then you have lukewarm, icky tea.

Luckily, Libre Tea wanted to solve that problem when they came up with their Libre Tea glasses. A stunning solution for loose leaf “tea on the go”, their Libre Tea glasses allow for a relaxing tea moment anywhere and at any time. The Libre Tea glasses have a glass interior and a durable poly exterior to keep tea hot while warming, yet not burning, your hands. They include a removable stainless-steel filter that keeps tea leaves in the glass, but out of your mouth, and it’s even removable for simple cleaning. And for those of you that prefer tea bags from time to time, Libre Tea glasses can even be used with tea bags along with loose leaf tea!

Libre Tea glasses are BPA-free, and they are available in multiple sizes. There’s the Original 9 ounce size, the Large 14 ounce size, and the Mug (with a handle!) 10 ounce size. The Libre Tea glasses can be used for hot tea or for cold tea, and they are not microwave or dishwasher safe. To use your Libre Tea with non-tea beverages, the tea filter can always be omitted and the tea glass will still seal up just fine.

My Opinion

The glass itself is stunning. I really love that Libre Tea put some serious effort into making their glass look just as amazing as it is functional. It’s made of this stunning, clear, see-through material along with a decorated lid that really helps it look classy and elegant. All of the pieces really come apart very simply for easy cleaning – though I’ll definitely say that I wish the parts were dishwasher-safe. Cleaning some of the pieces by hand can definitely become a bit of a pain.

We were hoping that more instructions would really be included with the glass. The product itself has the very basic of instructions, but it says to go onto the website to watch the video and read the majority of the instructions: How to use a Libre Tea glass. Once you go online to watch the video and read the instructions, everything is going to be “crystal clear”, but if you don’t do that, you might find yourself a bit floudering as you try to figure out the best way to use your Libre Tea glass. Definitely make sure to go onto their website for the best instructions possible.

Figuring out how to use the Libre Tea glass was a slight bit of a trial-and-error process. The instructions were clear, but it was more user-error on our part. It turns out that some of the tea we were attempting to use was just too low-quality, and it was clogging up the filter more than we intended. After trying different types of tea as well as tea bags, we found that the Libre Tea glass worked so much better. Once we figured out what types of tea to use, we found that the tea ended up coming out exactly how we were used to our tea tasting – and that’s impressive!

The Libre Tea glass is simple to take around as well. During tea making, it sometimes leaks, so I definitely recommend not putting it near anything that’s important nor fragile. When out and about, though, after its sealed tight, the Libre Tea glass doesn’t seem to leak. I haven’t left it on its side or upside down for very long, though, so I’m not 100% sure that I can claim it never leaks. It hasn’t had any problem with the regular splashing and moving while carrying it upright, though.

Pros

Simple to use, the Libre Tea glass looks stunning and is designed to keep your tea at the perfect temperature while on-the-go. It features a really well-thought-out design that keeps tea leaves out of your tea while still making it possible to make tea anywhere where you have access to hot water. Plus, the Libre Tea glasses come in multiple sizes to make sure you can get the size that’s best for you.

Cons

I wish the instructions were more thorough. The Libre Tea glass also takes some trial-and-error with tea types to find what works best for them. Also, making tea still requires access to hot or boiling water which doesn’t make the glass as portable as it could be.

Recommended

The Libre Tea glass makes it easy to make single servings of your favorite tea. You can easily pour in the tea leaves and take your favorite tea on the go. Want to make some tea while you’re out? As long as you have access to some boiling or super hot water, you can preload the tea leaves into your Libre Tea glass to make sure you always can have your tea.
