Archos has unveiled two budget oriented smartphones, the 45 and 50 Helium 4G, ahead of CES. Both the devices run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, with promised upgrades to KitKat 4.4.2. Archos 50 Helium 4G is the more premium of the two, featuring a 5 inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex A7 processor and Adreno 305 GPU. 1 GB of RAM is present onboard the device, with 8 GB storage expandable up-to 32 GB via a microSD card. A 8 megapixel primary camera with BSI sensor handles imaging while video calls are accorded to a 2 megapixel camera unit. The 8.95 mm thin device includes a 2000 mAh battery pack.

Archos 45 Helium 4G, on the other hand, steps down to a 4.5 inch WVGA (854 x 480 pixels) display, powered by the very same Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC with quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex A7 processor and Adreno 305 GPU. The very same 1 GB of RAM is included in the device, along with 4 GB of internal storage expandable up-to 32 GB via a microSD card. The camera units mark a step-down to 5 megapixels and BSI sensor for the primary camera and a VGA front facing shooter. The 9.75 mm thin device includes a 1700 mAh battery pack.

Both the smartphones include 4G LTE connectivity in addition to the usual gamut of WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth and A-GPS. 50 Helium 4G should cost $250 and its younger sibling, 45 Helium 4G is priced at $200, when the devices go on sale.
