You had their posters on your bedroom wall, you wanted their hair, you knew everything about them. The women of the 70’s were liberated and empowering, leading their generation in the field of acting, music and the arts. They were fashion icons and role models for the female population and adored greatly by the males of the world. Some have stayed in the public spotlight and some have not. Now you have the chance to find out where your favorite women of the 70’s are now!
Sally Field – Then
Born in 1946 in Pasadena, California, Sally was a cheerleader in High School before launching her acting career. She got her first break as a crazy surfer girl in the sitcom Gidget in 1965, but the show was not popular and was canceled after a single season. ABC saw her as a star, though, and wanted to find a project for her. They cast her in a new show called Flying Nun. It took her to the mid-70s in order to break out of the sitcom world, when she landed a role in the 1976 movie Sybil, for which she won an Emmy Award in 1977.
Sally Field – Now
Playing a young woman with multiple personality disorder was the break she really needed, and following that success the hit roles came flooding in for Sally. She co-starred with Burt Reynolds and Jackie Gleason in 1978’s second highest grossing film, Smokey and the Bandit, before landing her most iconic role in 1979 in Norma Rae. After the 70’s, Sally became a household name for the new generation with roles in huge Hollywood hits like Mrs. Doutbfire and Forest Gump. Even more recently, she starred in the hit show Brothers and Sisters.
Bo Derek – Then
Another Californian girl, Bo was born in Long Beach, California in 1956. She more or less dropped out of high school aged 16 when she fell in love with a man 30 years her senior, John Derek. John divorced his wife soon after meeting Bo and the two moved to Germany together. Bo made her film debut in the horror film Orca, which was supposed to be the director Michael Anderson’s answer to Jaws. It was a disastrous film but it did launch her career! Following Orca, Bo landed a role in the movie 10, for which she is still most famous for until this day.
Bo Derek – Now
Following the success of 10, Derek landed a few roles in the 1980’s like A Change of Seasons, Fantasies, Tarzan the Ape Man, Bolero, and Ghosts Can’t Do It. After the 80’s, Bo’s acting career died down somewhat and did not have many major roles in anything of note. Although she has continued to act in minor roles throughout the years, these days Bo is more involved as an advocate for animal rights. She owns Andalusian horses and sits on the California Horse Racing Board.
Valerie Perrine – Then
Perrine was from Galveston, Texas, and was born in 1943 to Winifred and Kenneth Perrine. She actually began her career as a Las Vegas showgirl and was rumored to have played an uncredited part in Diamonds Are Forever, but that is not true. Her breakout role was in Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five in 1972 and was in Playboy later that year. Her career really hit highs in 1974, however, when she starred in Lenny. The role of Honey Bruce won her numerous awards, including the Cannes film Festival Best Actress Award, as well as landing her nominations for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe.
Valerie Perrine – Now
Since her days as Honey Bruce, Perrine starred in WC Fields and Me in 1976, but one of the roles she will be best remembered for is definitely Superman, 1978, and then the sequel in 1980. She played Eve Teschmacher, who was the mole of Clark Kent’s arch enemy Lex Luther. Since her heydays of the late 70s and 80s, Valerie has not been involved in such high-profile productions. She did appear in a small role in Mel Gibson’s 2002 movie, What Women Want.
Cybill Shepherd – Then
Cybil Shepherd is from Memphis, Tennessee and started out her career as a model. She won ‘Miss Teenage Memphis’ at age 16 and by 18 she won ‘Model of the Year’. 1971 was the start of her career as an actress, appearing in the movie The Last Picture Show, and she was nominated for a Golden Globe. Next up was The Heartbreak Kid in 1972, alongside Charles Grodin, before she launched her singing career in the mid-70s with her debut album entitled, Cybill Does It…To Cole Porter.
Cybill Shepherd – Now
Cybil would go on to star in many more hits in the 70s, including a role in Taxi Driver alongside a young Robert De Niro. A few less successful movies followed, and Shepherd decided to move away from the Hollywood limelight and take part in some theater productions. By the 80s she was back in Hollywood and eventually landed a role in ABC’s Moonlighting, which won her a Golden Globe and newfound critical acclaim. In 1995, Shepherd landed her own TV show Cybil, which ran for 87 episodes. Nowadays, she is best known for her role in the L-Word.
Kate Jackson – Then
Born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1948, Kate left her degree at the University of Mississippi to pursue her dream of acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Art. Her first role was in the TV show Dark Shadows in 1971, before playing Sam Melville’s wife on the show The Rookies for four seasons. Jackson appeared in a few TV movies throughout the early 1970’s before she landed a part on a new production in 1975 called Charlie’s Angels. Although Jackson had a successful career on the big screen, she had three unsuccessful marriages which unfortunately ended in divorce.
Kate Jackson – Now
Charlie’s Angles would become one of the most iconic and most-loved shows of all time. Interestingly enough, when Jackson went to discuss the role with the producers Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg, the name of the show was actually The Alley Cats. They told her that the name needed to be changed and asked her what she thought it should be. She starred at a poster behind the two men that had 3 angels on it and immediately said “Charlie’s Angels”. The rest, as they say, is history. Kate is now an advocate for both Heart and Breast health for women.
Maureen McCormick – Then
Hailing from Encino, California, Maureen first appeared on US television screens in commercials for Barbie and Chatty Cathy dolls. She first acted in minor roles in productions such as Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie, before the role she will always be known for came about – Marcia Brady. The Brady Bunch began in 1969 and ran until 1974. Marcia was a popular character and it won her many admirers, although it did come at a cost to McCormick. After the show’s cancellation in 1974, her personal life spun out of control due to her addiction to drugs.
Maureen McCormick – Now
The Brady Bunch had been canceled but was still hugely popular on TV as reruns so a series of spin-offs and films would follow for McCormick. She took part in numerous, including the likes of The Brady Kids, The Brady Bunch Hour, The Brady Brides and A Very Brady Christmas. Despite these successes, life was not easy for this star and her problems with drug addiction continued, leading many producers and directors in Hollywood to be wary of casting her due to her unreliability. Thankfully today, she has managed to curb her demons through stints in rehab.
Alison Arngrim – Then
Born in 1962 in New York, Alison began her career as a child model and actress in commercials. Her mother, Norma MacMillan, actually provided the voice for animated children’s cartoons such as Casper the Friendly Ghost. Alison’s career as a TV star took off in 1974 when she landed a role on a new series called Little House on the Prairie at age 12. Her character Nellie Oleson would become one of the favorites on the mega hit show and became the archetypal role for a 1970’s bad girl.
Alison Arngrim – Now
Alison described her seven long years on Little House as “like having PMS for seven years.” She made brief appearances on shows like The Love Boat and Fantasy Island before trying her hand at stand-up comedy. Alison released an autobiographical book and a comedy record album where she played Amy Carter, daughter of former president Jimmy Carter. After the death of her co-star from Little House, Steve Tracy, Alison became heavily involved with AIDS awareness and child abuse activists PROTECT.
Liv Ullmann – Then
Liv was born to Norwegian parents in Tokyo, Japan in 1938 before the family moved to Canada, then New York and then finally back to Norway where Liv began her acting career on stage. It was her association with famed Swedish director Ingmar Bergman that launched her in the global spotlight. She starred in no fewer than 10 of his movies, including Cries and Whispers and Autumn Sonata, which co-starred Ingrid Bergman, during the 1970’s. She also received an Academy Award for The Emigrants in 1971.
Liv Ullmann – Now
She received another Academy Award nomination in 1976 for her part in Face to Face, before going on to act alongside Laurence Olivier in A Bridge Too Far in 1977. She continued to act in stage productions in America and Scandinavia throughout her career. She would eventually find her way into the directing of movies, starting with Sofie in 1992. As recently as 2014, she directed Colin Farrell in a film adaptation of Miss Julie. Liv is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and is the co-founder of the Women’s Refugee Commission.
Goldie Hawn – Then
Goldie Hawn was born in Washington, D.C in 1945 and began taking tap dancing lessons at age 3. This would later lead to her career as a professional dancer before launching his acting career in the late 1960s. In 1969, Goldie won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in Cactus Flower. Following that, her acting career began to take off quickly. She was best known for comedy roles but also played some more dramatic ones such as The Girl from Petrovka and The Sugarland Express. She also hosted two of her own TV specials in the late 70s.
Goldie Hawn – Now
In 1980, Goldie Hawn produced and starred in the hit Private Benjamin, which earned her another Oscar nomination. She starred in numerous more commercial and critical hits throughout the 1980s. She later married actor Kurt Russell.
Not just a talented actress herself, Goldie is the mom of two more amazing actors, Kate and Oliver Hudson. Goldie is a vocal Buddhist and supporter of animal and environmental causes. In 2003, she started the Hawn Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides youth with educational programs designed to improve their performance through “life-enhancing strategies for well-being”.
Jane Seymour – Then
Jane Seymour is from London, England and actually changed her name from Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg.
Some minor roles in movies produced by her father-in-law, Richard Attenborough, proceeded her real breakout role as a Bond girl in Live and Let Die in 1973 starring Roger Moore. This was just the beginning for Seymour as she went on to appear in the third installment of the Sinbad series, Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger. After that, she landed the role of Serina in the Battlestar Galactica film and then appeared in the first five episodes of the TV show in 1978.
Jane Seymour – Now
By the late 1980s, she was earning lead roles in productions such as Onassis: The Richest Man in the World, for which she won an Emmy award, and also starred in War and Remembrance – a 12-part mini series. Jane has had numerous other successful film and television roles over the years, including her own series, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. More recently, she appeared in the Superman spin-off series Smallville, How I Met Your Mother and a few TV movies. Seymour has as also proved to be more than just another pretty face as she founded the Childhelp organization which is an American non-profit organization which helps to rehabilitate children who have been subject abuse and neglect.
Jodie Foster-Then
Jodie Foster is from Los Angeles, California and her career began at age 3 when she starred in a television commercial. Her mother was taking her older brother Buddy to audition for a role when she was spotted tagging along by some casting agents. Fast forward to 1976 and she was cast by Martin Scorsese in the cult classic Taxi Driver as the teenage ‘worker’ that Robert De Niro rescues. She was just 12 years old at the time and had to fight for the right to star in such a racy and violent movie.
Jodie Foster-Now
Taxi Driver basically catapulted Foster into superstardom and earned her an Oscar nomination. She would then slowly transition from a teenage star to a full on adult actress with movies such as The Accused, the performance in which would earn her an Oscar and a Golden Globe. She would win yet another Academy Award a few years later for the unforgettable role of Clarice Starling in Silence of the Lambs. More recently she starred alongside Denzel Washington and Clive Owen in Inside Man, and Elysium with Matt Damon.
Cher – Then
Hailing from El Centro, California, Cher would first achieve fame in 1965 as one-half of the musical duo, Sonny, and Cher. Alongside her then husband, Sonny Bonno, they would reach the number one spot on the American and British charts for their debut single ‘I Got You Babe’. She also launched her solo career before landing her own TV series in the 1970s, The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour, which was watched by 30 million people weekly. Her unique fashion sense and voice made her stand out from the crowd.
Cher – Now
Cher continued to work on her music career and had hits such as “Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves”, “Half-Breed”, and “Dark Lady” and by the 1980s she had her own show in Las Vegas, for which she was reportedly earning as much as $330,000 per week. The superstar then ventured into the acting world and won an Oscar for her role in the 1987 film Moonstruck. More albums and movies followed, and as recently as 2013 released a new solo album, Closer to the Truth.
Susan Sarandon – Then
Born in in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York, Susan Sarandon began her career in the 1970 movie Joe, before appearing in the soap operas A World Apart and Search for Tomorrow. She landed her first big role in The Rocky Horror Picture Show in 1975, which quickly became a cult classic and still is to this day. Susan also appeared alongside Robert Redford, playing the female lead in The Great Waldo Pepper. By 1981 she had earned his first Academy Award nomination for her part in Atlantic City.
Susan Sarandon – Now
It wasn’t until the 80s and 90s where Sarandon really became a household name. Her appearance in Tony Scott’s The Hunger in 1983 was extremely controversial due to the content of some scenes, but it was the 1987 flick Bull Durham opposite Kevin Costner and Tim Robbins which made her a real A-list star. Susan still acts but is also a very vocal activist and focuses her efforts of humanitarian work. She is a Goodwill Ambassador and has received recognition for her work.
Meryl Streep – Then
An MFA theater graduate, Streep started on the stage and then launched her film career. She first appeared on our screens on the television movie The Deadliest Season and then earned an Emmy award for her part in the TV miniseries Holocaust. Her big breakthrough on the big screen wasn’t until The Deer Hunter with Robert De Niro in 1978. She earned an Oscar nomination for her role in that cult classic, the first of 19 nominations she would earn throughout her career.
Meryl Streep – Now
Streep has won 19 Academy Award nominations, more than any other actress and is one of six elite actors who has won three or more awards for acting. She won Best Supporting Actress for Kramer vs Kramer in 1979, and then Best Actress for Sophie’s Choice in 1982 and The Iron Lady in 2011. Other notable roles include; The Devil Wears Prada (2003), Mamma Mia! (2008) and Doubt (2008). With over 157 awards across her career and the record for Academy Award Nominations, Meryl is truly a mega star.
Pam Grier – Then
Pam Grier is from North Carolina and was supposedly discovered by director Jack Hill while working as a receptionist for American International Pictures in 1967. She rose to fame in the 1970s for her parts in a series of successful movies such as The Big Bird Cage (1972), Coffy (1973), Foxy Brown (1974) and Sheba Baby (1975). She was type cast for playing strong, bold and assertive women and she is credited as being the first African-American woman to headline an action movie for her role in Coffy.
Pam Grier- Now
During the 80s Grier continued to land big roles such as Fort Apache and The Bronx and also played a recurring character in Miami Vice between 1985-89. In the 90s she appeared in numerous television shows including; Sinbad, Preston Chronicles, The Cosby Show, The Wayans Brothers Show, and Mad TV. Today’s audiences will know her best for her role in Quentin Tarantino’s Jacky Brown, which was similar to her earlier roles in the 70s. Most recently Grier starred in the L-Word.
Diane Keaton – Then
Diane Keaton is a native of Los Angeles, California and her began her acting career on stage and took part in the Broadway production Hair. Her association with Woody Allen began soon after, taking part in his production of Play it Again, Sam. She won a Tony award for that role and then moved into the movie world. She made her film debut in Lovers and Other Strangers before earning her real breakout role as Kay in the cult classic The Godfather.
Diane Keaton – Now
Most will know that The Godfather had unparalleled success and reprised her role as Kay in 1974 in Part II. Keaton went on to play in multiple Woody Allen films but would hit huge heights once again for the 1977 movie Annie Hall, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. Many more hits would come her way, such as Manhattan, The Father of the Bride, The First Wives Club and another chance to portray Kay Adams in The Godfather Part III. Keaton is known as one of the most versatile and competent actresses in Hollywood.
Barbra Streisand – Then
Barbara Streisand was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1942 and at the age of 16 Barbra was almost homeless trying to pursue her dream of stardom. By the end of the 70’s she was one of the most successful female artists in the U.S. While working at theater showing The Sound of Music, she got wind that the director was on the look-out for more singers and auditioned, although she didn’t get the part, it encouraged her to pursue a singing career as well as acting.
Barbra Streisand- Now
Barbra eventually became one of the highest-selling artists of all time, with 68.5 million albums sold in the US alone, with around 145 million being sold worldwide. Apart from her music career, Streisand is a very successful actress. She wrote, produced, directed and starred in the 1983 film Yentl, becoming the first women to do so, and she became the first woman to receive an Oscar for best director. Fans nowadays will recognize her from the Meet the Fockers movie, opposite Dustin Hoffman and Ben Stiller.
Talia Shire – Then
Talia Shire was born Talia Coppola, the sister of the famous movie director Francis Ford Coppola, 1946. Her father, Carmine, was a famous composer and so, naturally, her path was led into the movie industry. Her first big role was one that would go down in history, playing Connie Corleone in The Godfather. She later won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for the 1974 sequel, The Godfather Part II. Following her successes in the early 70s, her next classic role would come in the form of Sylvester Stallone’s love interest in the smash-hit Rocky series.
Talia Shire- Now
Her performance as Adrian would be reprised no fewer than six times, including the 2006 installment Rocky Balboa. Talia’s brother Francis is not the only other Hollywood star in the family. Talia is the aunt to Nicolas Cage and Sofia Coppola, another director. She also has five children, with Robert and Jason Schwartzman, sons from her second marriage to Jack Schwartzman, both being successful actors. In recent years, Talia has been seen in movies such as I Heart Huckabees (2004), and Homo Erectus (2007).
Ellen Burstyn – Then
Ellen is from Detroit, Michigan and began her career on Broadway as early as 1957. In 1975, she won a Tony award for Best Performance by a leading actress in Same Time, Next Year, a role she would later reprise for the film version in 1978. She won an Oscar for her work with director Martin Scorsese in the film, Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. She was also nominated for her role in the thriller The Exorcist and for the drama The Last Picture Show.
Ellen Burstyn- Now
Ellen went on to receive her very own sitcom in 1986, The Ellen Burstyn Show, alongside Megan Mullally and Elaine Stritch, but it was unfortunately not much of a success. More recently, Ellen appeared in a Netflix original series, House of Cards, and has continued to act on stage and screen throughout her career. In 2006, there was a little controversy regarding her Emmy nomination for the HBO film Mrs. Harris as she only appeared on screen for a total of 14 seconds.
Carol Kane – Then
Born in Clevland, Ohio, Carol got off to a young start with her first professional theater performance at 14 in a production of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie alongside Tammy Grimes. Since getting her foot in the door, she has enjoyed a lot of variation in her acting career. She starred on the TV series Taxi and had scored major roles in classic films such as The Princess Bride and Annie Hall. She even played the character of Olga on the sitcom Laverne and Shirley.
Carol Kane – Now
For 10 years Carol has been lucky enough to play Madame Morrible in Wicked on Broadway, and has also become a part of their national touring company which puts on the famous show nationwide. Kane also enjoys a reoccurring role in the Netflix Original, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and has also made an appearance on the series Girls in 2103 as the role of Olga. In 2012, Kane also starred in the Broadway production of Harvey in New York alongside Jim Parsons which she received rave reviews for.
Olivia Newton-John – Then
Born in Cambridge, England, Newton-John’s famous role as Sandy Dee in Grease is what made Olivia a star and caused her to rise fast and furious! Before she got her big break on the silver screen, she was famous for her way with music. She released her first solo album, If Not For You in 1971, which earned her the title of Best British Female Vocalist for two years in a row by Record Mirror magazine. In 1974, Newton-John had the honor of representing the U.K in the Eurovision Song Contest with her song Long Live Love.
Olivia Newton-John – Now
Today Olivia is busy as ever, and still tours in Australia and the U.S performing songs for the first time. She also scored a residency at the Flamingo Las Vegas which she began in April of 2014. In November 2012, she teamed up with John Travolta to make an album for charity titled This Christmas. The album was in order to support The Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre as well as the Jett Travolta Foundation. Newton-John has also served as a guest judge on an episode of the popular show RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Faye Dunaway – Then
This Florida-born fox left her mark as the tough-talking gangster-ess in Bonnie and Clyde. The talented and seductive actress has also appeared in such classics as The Thomas Crown Affair and Chinatown. Although Dunaway’s career began with her role in broadway shows in the early 1960s, her talents really began to blossom with her first ever movie role in the film The Happening. This earned her a lot of credit and recognition which helped to open doors for her later in her career.
Faye Dunaway – Now
Faye has continued to act and has a large number of awards on her CV! In 2002, she played an upper-crust, Xanax dependent mother in the film The Rules of Attraction, and in 2005 she sat as a guest judge on the reality TV show The Starlet, which sought to find the next new young star. Dunaway also made guest appearances in episodes of popular shows like CSI, Grey’s Anatomy, Alias, and Touched by an Angel. This year she returned to the silver screen a horror film The Bye Bye Man.
Kim Basinger – Then
The American actress was a successful New York fashion model before deciding to move to Los Angeles, where she quickly began her career as an actress on television. In 1981, she made her feature debut in a drama film called Hard Country. She really rose to ultimate stardom after her role as a Bond girl Domino Petachi in the 1983 film Never Say Never Again. Basinger also won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Lynn Bracken in the film L.A. Confidential.
Kim Basinger – Now
The stunner is still gracing the screens showcasing her natural talents to this day. Since her hay-day, she has starred in films like Charlie St. Cloud, which was released in 2010 and Grudge Match in 2013. She also filmed 4 Minute Mile and another German-Danish movie titled I Am Here. Big news came for Basinger in January of 2016, when it was announced that she will play the character of Elena Lincoln in Fifty Shades Darker, which is the sequel to the steamy film, Fifty Shades of Grey.
Rene Russo – Then
Before she transitioned into film work in the late 80’s, the Californian bombshell graced the covers of fashion magazines like Vogue and Cosmopolitan. Russo made her debut on the big screen in the comedy film Major League in 1989 and later went on to co-star in the movie Mr. Destiny in 1990. The role that took Russo to the top and made her a household name was her part in Lethal Weapon 3 as a fierce female assassin. She was so good in the role that she was also cast in the sequel Lethal Weapon 4.
Rene Russo – Now
In 2005, Renee took a small break from acting but she’s back now and better than ever. Russo appeared in the superhero movie Thor in 2011 as Frigga, the mother of the main superhero Thor. Two years later she was cast again for the sequel Thor: The Dark World . In 2015, Russo made an appearance in the popular film The Intern, and she’s now working on the action comedy film Villa Capri, which is set to be released on August 25 of 2017.
Lynda Carter – Then
In 1972, Carter won over the attention of the nation after winning the title of Miss World USA, representing her state of Arizona. She went on to pursue her acting career and enrolled in acting classes at a few schools in New York. With all her hard work and perseverance she landed her first big appearance in 1974, in an episode of the police drama series Nakia called “Roots of Anger”. Carter’s career skyrocketed after she landed the role of a lifetime in 1976 as Diana Prince in Wonder Woman.
Lynda Carter – Now
Long after she got her star, Carter continued to prove that she was a force to be reckoned with, and until today is acting and putting out music. In 2005, Carter got her chance to shine on Broadway after she landed the role of Mama Morton in the musical Chicago. She also started her own traveling cabaret club called An Evening with Lynda Carter, and in 2007 she began touring and playing some of the most prestigious venues including, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and the Catalina Jazz Club in L.A.
Raquel Welch – Then
Just three lines. That’s all it took, that and an animal skin bikini to launch Raquel Welch into a sensual icon and poster girl for life. People might forget the movie One Million Years B.C. but they won’t forget Raquel. However, that wasn’t her first time on the big screen. Her first movie role was in 1966 in the film Fantastic Voyage. Shortly after she signed a contract 20th Century Fox and that’s when her career really began to take off. Welch later earned roles in famous films like Bedazzled in 1967, Bandolero! in 1968, and 100 Rifles in 1969.
Raquel Welch – Now
The beauty icon has continued to reign into the late 21st century and has earned various roles in movies, awards, and other honors. Welch was given a role in the cult comedy movie Legally Blonde alongside Reese Witherspoon, and later in 2001 she was given the “Imagen Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award” in honor of her positive portrayal of Latin heritage throughout her entire career. She was also chosen as the face of MAC Cosmetics Beauty Icon series in January of 2007. Most recently, Welch landed a role in the movie House of Versace as Aunt Lucia.
Stefania Sandrelli – Then
The stunning Italian actress was born under the Tuscan sun and got her start working in the film industry at the tender age of just 14. At 14 years old, Stefania landed her first major role in the movie Divorce Italian Style. Her knockout performance earned her so much credit with producers in the industry that she quickly became a star and featured in many other of Bernardo Bertolucci’s drama films like The Conformist and 1900. She was in such high demand that she also appeared in quite a few French productions.
Stefania Sandrelli – Now
Although Stefania has taken a step away from the limelight in recent years, she continues to act occasionally and is still being awarded for her amazing contributions to the film industry. At the 62nd Venice International Film Festival in September of 2005, she received the Golden Lion for her Lifetime Achievement. In 2010, she returned to Broadway to star in revival shows of plays like The Best Man and Love Letters. Now that she is semi-retired from acting, Candace can focus on personal projects. It’s safe to say she deserves a break after winning countless awards for her work over the years.

Born in Santa Ana, California, the blonde-haired, blue-eyed bombshell got her big break in in 1982 in the film Grease 2. Pfeiffer received more praise and attention for her role in the mob flick Scarface in 1983. As if her wrap sheet of movie roles couldn’t get any more impressive, she kept on landing parts in movies like Batman Returns, Dangerous Minds, and What Lies Beneath. She also won the BAFTA Award and a Golden Globe award for her work in the 1989 film The Fabulous Baker Boys.

Pfeiffer’s most recent role was in the witty comedy, New Year’s Eve, and will appear in Murder on the Orient Express, which is scheduled to be released on November 22, 2017.

After graduating high school in 1964, Parton moved to Nashville and signed a contract with Combine Publishing where she wrote several top ten hits. Parton climbed to more fame in 1967 as a singer on Porter Wagoner’s weekly TV show. In 1980, she landed the role of a lifetime in the film 9 to 5 and even wrote the movie’s theme song “9 to 5”. The song reached No. 1 on the country, adult contemporary, and the pop chart giving her a triple hit and making her the only female country singer to have a number 1 single on all three charts at once!

Still performing, Dolly has released a total of 42 studio albums over the course of her career. Fun fact, she is the godmother of singer and actress Miley Cyrus! Parton is also no stranger to television, as she’s guest starred on many hit shows and even served as a guest judge on American Idol. In 2012, Fonda got back into the world of TV after being given a lead role in the Netflix series Grace and Frankie. Never one to shy away from the spotlight, Jane has also been busy as an activist in recent years. She is personally invested in matters of Feminism, Native American rights, and Environmentalism.

A woman of many talents, Susan was a contender in beauty pageants as well as a singer for product jingles. You could have also caught her on television commercials for Serta’s Perfect Sleeper mattress. Later in the 1970s, Anton appeared quite a few times of Merv Griffin’s TV shows and was even given a show of her own with country singer Mel Tillis. Anton showcased her musical talents in the early 80’s after she released the single “Killin’ Time”, which made it on the country charts.

Bach may have gotten her start in the movie The Midnight Man, but her iconic role as Daisy Duke on the series The Dukes Of Hazzard is what made her into the star she is today. It’s reported that while she was on the show, Bach had her legs insured for a whopping $1,000,000!! In 1985, she was also a model for the schooner Californian. After The Dukes Of Hazzard had ended, and before she began filming for African Skies, she accepted quite a few roles in small films to keep herself busy.

During the start of her career, Fawcett got work in commercials and small roles on television. As she gained experience and popularity, she began landing recurring roles on TV shows like Harry O and The Six Million Dollar Man . Then in 1976 she earned the role of Jill Munroe in Charlie’s Angels, which launched her into total stardom. Following her infamous red swimsuit poster, Fawcett became an overnight international sensation. She was even chosen as number 26 on TV Guide‘s “50 Greatest TV stars of All-Time”.

Later in her career, Fawcett appeared in the movie Dr. T & the Women, as well as a Broadway production of Bobbi Boland. The timeless blonde bombshell also graced episodes’s of popular shows like Ally McBeal and Spin City, but it was her work on the show The Guardian that earned Fawcett her a third Emmy nomination in 2004. In late 2009, Farrah passed away from Cancer and is missed incredibly by her family, friends, and fans. Every role or project that she partook in was notable.

Born in Houston Texas, Smith is another actress who got her start in television commercials before her big break on the series Charlies Angels. The bold brunette starred as Kelly Garrett on Charlie’s Angels from 1976-1981, and was the only angel to last the whole series. Although Smith is known mostly for her role in Charlie’s Angels, she’s also appeared in other films like Nightkill and Déjà Vu . In addition to acting, Smith started and developed her own successful line of clothing and perfumes in the 1980’s.
