The Carson City Firefighters Association has collected more than $6,000 from local businesses to purchase coats for children in need throughout Carson City through the national “Coats for Kids” campaign.

More than 200 children received new coats on Wednesday, December 9th. The “Coats for Kids” campaign allows Carson City Firefighters the opportunity to distribute coats to children living in unfortunate circumstances. Many children would not have new coats this winter without the “Coats for Kids” campaign.

Children, ages 3-12, are selected based upon need by the school district. The Carson City Firefighters Association Local 2251 represents firefighters and paramedics of the Carson City Fire Department.
