Christina Rogers, first grade teacher at SOAR Charter Academy, has been nominated for the 2015-2016 national LifeChanger of the Year award.

Sponsored by the National Life Group Foundation, the LifeChanger of the Year program recognizes and rewards the very best K-12 public and private school educators and employees across the United States who are making a difference in the lives of students by exemplifying excellence, positive influence and leadership.

Rogers was nominated by principal Trisha Lancaster.

Rogers has worked at SOAR Charter Academy as a first grade teacher since 2008. She works seamlessly with her partner and instructional aide to create a dynamic, effective program for all of their students. Rogers is innovative and willing to try new strategies to engage students and enable them to be successful.

“She gives back to the community by helping her students become responsible, loving people that will continue to care about their community,” said Lancaster. “Rogers’ leadership skills are exemplary and have made her teaching partnership a model for other grade levels.”

Each school year, the LifeChanger of the Year program receives hundreds of nominations. For 2015-2016, a total of 16 winners will be chosen by the selection committee to receive cash awards that are split between the individual winner and their school.
