Classical music performances can make for a great night out with that special someone. Atlanta provides plenty of these types of performances with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and plenty of other groups within the area. Heres a look at some of the best upcoming performances around Atlanta.

Atlanta Ballets Nutcracker - Fox Theatre

Maybe one of the most popular shows for the holiday season, the Nutcracker will be performed by the Atlanta Ballet again this year. They will be accompanied by the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra to ensure this incredible production leave audiences very happy. Guest Gary Sheldon will be doing the conducting and the Georgia Youth Choir will also provide some of the music during the first act.

The performance will be held from December 11th to the 28th at the Fox Theatre. The theatre is located at 660 Peachtree Street NE in Atlanta. Tickets range from $15 to $89 with a $3 restoration fee added to each ticket, along with tax.

rePlay - Symphony of Heroes - Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center

This performance will be held on January 17th and will include plenty of great classical music. It will include the orchestra and the chorus ensemble as a bit of an entry point type of performance for theater goers. If youre trying to get into the world of classical music, this might be the perfect choice.

The setlist is from video games, which provides something familiar for many. Some of the games contributing include Final Fantasy and Legend of Zelda. The performance will happen at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center at 7:30pm and tickets will range from $48 to $128. The center is located at 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway in Atlanta.

Peter and The Wolf - Marietta Performing Arts Center

A very popular show for both the old and the young, Peter and The Wolf will include plenty of great classical music. The Georgia Symphony Orchestra, which is a youth orchestra, will play two shows for grade school and high school ages. The cost is only $6 for students. They are also open to the general public, which makes it the perfect choice if you want to attend a great show for a lower cost. Teachers and Chaperones get in free of charge.

The shows will be held at the Marietta Performing Arts Center, which is located at 1171 Whitelock Avenue NW. They will be held on January 27th at 10am and 11:30am.
