There is always a refrain that Telugu people do not share so much concern for preserving their language as much as people of other Southern states do. In fact, there is rich content and heritage in Telugu culture.
But now there is definitely good news. There was a PIL filed at Madras High court objecting the classical language status given for Telugu, in order to make only Tamil as the classical language.
But the court has rejected this saying Telugu too deserves as much as classical status because of its ancient history and roots. This vindicates the stand of those who have been waging a battle for safeguarding Telugu language and culture.
