Hi all! I have a Halloween set from Lemming Lacquer for your Monday. This nine polish set is the Conjure Collection, inspired by the Voodoo religion and the folk magic Hoodoo, with six of the polishes representing the main Loa invoked during rituals and three polishes representing powerful ingredients used in common hoodoo spells. I am including inspiration notes provided from the maker.
The Conjure Collection is available now in Lemming Lacquer's shop. The full set is slightly discounted, priced at $90, individual bottles range from $10 to $12 each.
Lemming Lacquer Baron Cimitiere
Two coats
Burgundy holographic
Inspiration note:
Baron Cimitiere is a spirit of the dead and is charged with being the guardian of the cemetery to protect graves. He is also tasked with keeping the dead in and the living out of the cemetery gate. He has expensive tastes and enjoys smoking cigars and drinking fine wine.
Right from the start, we have this jewel toned wine red holo. Lemming Lacquer creates some of my favorite holo polishes, because they apply so well and this is no exception.

Lemming Lacquer Baron Kriminel
Two coats
Blood red holographic
Inspiration note:
Baron Kriminel is often imagined as the first murderer who was condemned to death. He is invoked for swift judgement and punishment but it's vital for the practitioner to pay what was promised otherwise there are dire consequences.
The perfect bloody red color, which means, *boom boom* there goes my heart. LOVE. I know someone will ask, so just to compare to Bloody Mary, Full of Vodka, this is darker, with a bit of brown in the color. Super easy application, needing just two coats.

Lemming Lacquer Baron La Croix
Three coats
Royal purple with micro holo sparks and blue/pink/red shifting shimmer
Inspiration note:
Baron La Croix is another Loa of the dead as well as sexuality. He is the extreme expression of individuality and likes to remind others of delighting in life's pleasures while they can. He helps practitioners keep a sense of proportion and balance in times of extreme change. Baron La Croix is often depicted as wearing a black tailcoat, a top hat, dark glasses, carrying a beautiful cane, and smoking a cigar.
Reading the inspiration, this is the perfect color choice, with its decadent purple coloring and holo sparks. Three coats for opacity.

Lemming Lacquer Baron Samedi
Two coats
Gray holographic polish with red flash and small holographic silver flakes
Inspiration note:
Baron Samedi is a Loa of the dead and a powerful Loa to call for help when casting curses or using black magic. Like the other Barons he loves obscenity, debauchery and disruption. He takes delight in continuous swearing, making filthy jokes as well as smoking and drinking. When someone dies, he will dig their grave and lead their soul to the underworld after they have been buried. If he refuses to dig someone's grave, even if someone is on the verge of death, they will not die. This and the fact he can cure any disease or wound (if he chooses) is why he is also called for healing and resurrection. He is depicted as wearing a top hat, black tail coat, cotton plugs in his nostrils and a white or more often skull face.
This is the second gray polish this season that I love. What is going on now? There *must* be some actual Voodoo happening. Okay, well, maybe not but you will likely love this as much as I do, with its beautiful red flash shimmer and silver holo. The formula is thicker but easily manageable, two coats for coverage.

Lemming Lacquer Goofer Dust
Three coats
Black jelly base with gold, bronze and orange flakes and red-violet sheen
Inspiration note:
Goofer Dust is used to trouble, harm, or kill an enemy. Goofer Dust ingredients vary but can include graveyard dirt, salt, snake heads or skin, red pepper, black pepper, powdered bones or insects, and previously included anvil dust.
I love that you see the different colors catch in the light but that the base is still a dark black shade, sometimes when you put warm shimmer/flakes, the color will go from black to brown. With its jelly base, three coats worked best.

Lemming Lacquer Graveyard Dirt
Four coats
Brown jelly with glowing copper, gold and orange ember flakes
Inspiration note:
Graveyard dirt is collected by communing with the ancestral spirit and respectfully offering payment for its use in spellwork. The dirt of a family member's grave can be used or a practitioner can be spirit-led to a grave that attracts them. Graveyard dirt is an important magical link to give power to protection spells, tricks laid on enemies and love spells.
A warm brown shade that lovely despite its, uh, darker name connotation. I do wish that it was more opaque, I applied four thin coats to get the coverage shown below, next time a ridge builder base coat is something I would put on first.

Lemming Lacquer Hoyt's Cologne
Two coats
Dirty brown/green jelly with strong orange and copper shimmer and flash
Inspiration note:
Hoyt's Cologne is used for luck and gambling spells or dressing mojo bags to draw positive influences like money and luck in love.
Murky green, which made me think of a dirty martini (extra olives please). That shimmer though, basically all that and more, thank you very much. Nice opaque coverage in two coats.

Lemming Lacquer Maman Brigitte
Two coats
Spiced rum orange holographic
Inspiration note:
The wife of Baron Samedi, Maman Brigitte is a death Loa who protects gravestones in cemeteries if they are marked with a cross. Like her husband, she is also invoked to cure and save those on the brink of death caused by magic. She is sometimes depicted as a white, fair-haired and green-eyed woman. She drinks rum infused with hot peppers and her symbol is a black rooster.
Yes to all the oranges from Lemming! Because Cassie really does outdo herself with her oranges. This is darker, more "spiced" if you will, than Danger Zone, similar to a golden dark rum. Two easily applied coats for opacity.

Lemming Lacquer Papa Legba
Three coats
Dark wine purple jelly with gold and copper shimmer and bronze micro-flakes
Inspiration note:
Papa Legba is the Loa who stands at the crossroads as a gatekeeper to the spirit world. Rituals start with a prayer or offering to Papa Legba to gain access to speak to other Loa and spirits. He is commonly depicted as an old man walking with a cane or crutch, wearing a straw hat and smoking a pipe.
Let's end the collection with one more vampy number, this time a red toned, warm purple with that delicious shimmer. Opaque enough with two coats but I had slight patches toward my cuticle line so I applied one more coat.
