Chris Farrow Accelerates Cloud Services Vision for Avnet Technology Solutions, Australia and New Zealand
SYDNEY, 30 April 2015 – Avnet Technology Solutions, the global IT solutions distribution leader and an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), has appointed Chris Farrow to the role of business manager, Cloud Services, Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) as part of the company’s local growth strategy. Within this role, Chris is responsible for driving Avnet’s Cloud Services vision, focusing on evolving and strengthening the company’s cloud offerings for partners.
For more than 30 years, Chris has cultivated a successful career in IT, holding a number of senior and executive roles in sales, professional services and product development. During 26 years at IBM, Chris undertook a variety of roles across Australia, Asia Pacific and globally. More recently, Chris was the national business development manager, cloud, at Data#3, and worked with a number of cloud-based start-up organisations.

Farrow joined Avnet in January 2015 and worked swiftly to implement a number of strategies designed to strengthen and expand upon Avnet’s existing cloud offerings. Chris has acted as the driving force for the launch of the Avnet Cloud Toolset (ACT) which enables managed services provider (MSP) and value-added reseller (VAR) partners to govern, consolidate, manage and track resource consumption across multiple cloud providers. A number of Avnet partners are currently signed up for the Toolset in its initial stages, with a full rollout planned for May 2015.
