In addition to developing new technologies that have a significant business impact, we strive for creating intellectual property and make broader scientific impact by publishing our research in top conferences. Our current research themes include software testing, maintenance, modernization, and mining software repositories for DevOps. The Service Delivery Environments and Tools group at IBM Research, India is seeking researchers with proven technical expertise in the area of Services, Software and Systems Research to participate in exciting research and technology development projects. The focus of these projects will be on designing and developing novel systems and solutions for optimal delivery of infrastructure and application services leveraging the latest technologies and paradigms in HCI, structured and unstructured data handling, analytics, optimization, machine learning, software engineering and system management. Role / Responsibility:• Applicants should have a proven background in the general domain of Systems with deep expertise in one or more of Services Computing, Visual Analytics, Large Scale Software Systems Design, Analytics and Optimization, NLP Techniques and Databases. • You will lead/participate in cutting edge research and will apply the highest level of technical competence, analytical and problem solving abilities in support of original and creative scientific projects of significant business impact. You will maintain an in-depth knowledge of the state-of-the-art in their specialty and keep abreast of business trends. While being an independent thinker and contributor, you will collaborate effectively with top scientists from across the global research labs, as well as with business and development teams, and open innovation partners in leading academic institution. You will create valuable intellectual property, and publish in top tier conferences and journals. Qualifications:• A PhD (or masters with relevant experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines with sound technical expertise in one or more of the above mentioned areas.• Demonstrated ability to formulate scientifically challenging problems and develop and implement novel solutions. • In-depth knowledge of web technologies, like JSP, Servlets, AJAX, EJB/J2EE, Web Services (WSDL, SOAP) and XML. Good knowledge in relational databases and non-relational databases.• Demonstrated software development skills. Expertise in Java, C, and scripting languages such as Perl, Python, VBScript, R, Matlab, Ruby, Scala, etc.• Proven track record of publications; proven written and oral communication skills.
