According to latest news Whatsapp new feature is under design in which users will be able to track their friends in real-time.

Beta version of the app is already providing the Live Location Tracking. Available on Android version 2.16.399 and iOS version 2.17.3.28, the feature will let users make their location visible in a group chat allowing group members to track each other easily during meet-ups.

The feature, however, is disabled by default and will require users to activate it first through the app’s setting menu.

Live Location Tracking has for now been limited to show locations for a period of one, two and five minutes.

WhatsApp already allows users to share their specific location with friends but live tracking will come as a major upgrade to the app’s functionality.

However, the feature is still in its testing phase and as such there is no official word as to and if it will be made available.

The feature is still in the testing phase and there has been no official news regarding whether Whatsapp new feature will be made available for all or not.
