One of the best things about Bryan being home full-time has been all of us learning together.

A few months ago, he surprised us with a special delivery – a new microscope. And here’s my confession: we just opened it a few weeks ago.

Hello? What homeschooling momma wouldn’t love a new microscope more than the kids?

We had a pretty spectacular microscope for years when the kids were younger. But the maintenance and repairs for it eventually became more than it was worth. (a light bulb was $50+)

We have gone a couple of years without a good microscope, which is completely survivable, but having one has surely been a lot of fun – and eye opening!

With the kids getting older, science (and other studies) are becoming more in depth.

This microscope has already opened up a whole new world of learning.

It has allowed the kids to see many things like cells and bacteria. Things they have only seen in books have now become real. (Bryan also purchased this 100-piece prepared biology slide set)

That realness of these slides has led to numerous questions and growing curiosity – that after research has led to knowledge.

And in the life of a child, what could be better?

Do you have a microscope in your home(school)?
