Professor Steve Cornwell, IAFOR International Director of Programme: Language Learning, interviews Michael Griffin of Chung-Ang University, South Korea. In this interview they discuss how the use of social media, specifically platforms like Twitter, can be used to bring together and share information among teaching communities. Mr Griffin describes his work in Korea and the various challenges he faces in language instruction and training. They then talk about his Featured Presentation at The Asian Conference on Language Learning 2015 (ACLL2015), “How we talk about English Teaching (in South Korea)”, and the lessons learned from examining communication and discourse amongst the language teaching community.
Michael Griffin has been involved with English teaching for nearly 15 years and has worked as a teacher, teacher trainer and curriculum developer. He teaches in the Graduate School of International Studies at Chung-Ang University, South Korea, teaching both future translators/interpreters and graduate students in International Studies. He also teaches Curriculum Development on the New School MATESOL programme. His interests include professional development, reflective practice, ELF and curriculum development.
