THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

I’m overwhelmed by your responses to my last two posts. Many of you asked if I was scared to share everything, and honestly, I wasn’t at all. I thought that court on Friday would give me me a bit of closure, but instead, it threw everything that I hadn’t dealt with back to reality. But when I wrote my version of the story, the moment I clicked “publish”, I felt freer than I have in a long time. A huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders, and I owe a huge portion of that to YOU.

And now, YAY for a regular, happy post!

1. I’ve enjoyed college football for a few years now, it was time to step it up to NFL. While in Massachusetts, I went to one of the Patriots’ preseason games and was immediately hooked.

Last Sunday I watched their first game (win!) at Charleston Beer Works and now I’m obsessed. People get WAY crazier over NFL than college games, and it was exhilarating. I met a bunch of people from Massachusetts and got a kick out of hearing Boston accents in my city. Let’s take a look at my favorite player, New England’s new wide receiver.

That face!! Seriously, my type to a T.

2. I’ve quietly rooted for them over the years, obviously being from Mass. But while up there, I loaded up on hats, shirts, and hoodies and now I just need nail bling.

Can you believe this? Cover Girl has come out with nail designs for all the teams, calling them “fanicures.” HA!

3. After having a ton of lobster on vacation, I’ve made it my mission to try all the lobster rolls in Charleston restaurants. This nerd did her research and found them on 6 different restaurant menus: The Ordinary, Red’s, Brown Dog Deli, Fish, Pearlz, and Halo. Last Friday, I tried my first at Brown Dog Deli ($6.95).

While it was much different than a typical NE lobster roll, I liked it. The delicious homemade toasted bun was filled with a ton of meat, which wasn’t heavily soaked in mayo. There was a bit of celery, cabbage, and parsley, so essentially this was lobster salad in a roll.

4. Last night, TJ and I went to Basil for restaurant week. They’ve got the best 3 for $20 deal: an appetizer, an entree, and your choice of dessert or a glass of wine. As much as I wanted my favorites (coconut chicken soup and green curry), I forced myself to pick something new.

I had a glass of Malbec, the Yum Ped (duck salad) and Red Curry. I wouldn’t get the duck salad again (great flavor, but too chewy), but I loved the Red Curry.

5. Tonight I’m participating in the 1st annual adult spelling bee at The Alley that benefits the Be a Mentor program. I, along with 25 other Charleston personalities, will compete in this humorous event. Find the event on facebook here. Please come cheer me on!

xo!
