Known for her loud prints, bold colour combinations and a solid sense of extroversion, Katie Eary’s wild western acid trip for SS15 didn’t disappoint.

Eary was looking for a vision of a modern cowboy and found it somewhat surprisingly in the past. Drawing from modern references such as Breaking Bad and Dallas Buyers Club, she infused the familiar western silhouette with a pure slice of the seventies.

The colour palette said it all. Loud orange, pink and purples melted into each other adorning silky shirts and polar necks. Looking closer, patterns told the story of the desert; dead fish, cacti and peace signs. The classic fringed cowboy jacket was reimagined in dark purple and pink and accessorised with reflective sunglasses. Almost every piece – save for the slouchy jeans – made us think of what a sunrise might look like on LSD.

What made the whole thing even more trippy were Katie Eary’s girls – a regular facet of her menswear show – whose faces this season were entirely covered in glitter. Breaking up the men like shimmering, sexy mirages in halter necks, swimwear and slinky catsuits.

After the show, the cowboy crew rode off into the sunset for an after party at the very appropriate Casa Negra Playroom where Andy Butler (Hercules & Love Affair) DJed and Grey Goose flowed.
