Peggy's Cove Lighthouse
This lighthouse is one of the most photographed lighthouses in Canada. The geology in the surrounding area is also very impressive, so snap a few pictures while you're there.
Follow my east coast adventures on my @followmenorth Instagram account. Today I landed in Halifax and had some spare time this evening to take a short road trip to Peggy's Cove. I was hoping for a spectacular sunset however the clouds started rolling in. I still got some great shots along the coastline though and look forward to sharing them with you. History: The first lighthouse in Peggy's Cove was built in 1868 which was a large house with a light on top. During World War ll it was used by the Royal Canadian Navy as a radio station. The present lighthouse behind me was completed in 1916 and was manned until 1958 when it became fully automated. #followmenorthgoeseast
