Mums with young children know all too well the struggle of trying to get to the hairdresser for a cut or colour -- an indulgence often dreamt of but never brought to fruition.

Resorting to a daily top-knot (or accidental balayage) is an option, or you could use the new beauty booking app "Dial A Style" to have a hairdresser come to your house with as little as two hours notice.

Much like ride sharing app Uber, the free app acts as a direct booking platform -- allowing clients seeking not only hair, but makeup, massage and tanning services, to access a nearby hair or beauty professional who will receive the notification and travel to the client’s home.

Invented with mums in mind, the app is also aimed at busy business women and men, bridal parties and patients at hospitals and nursing homes.

"Customers can expect the highest in professionalism when it comes to the stylists who join the Dial A Style team, as all contractors undergo police as well as working with children checks before coming on board. All contractors have a Certificate III in Hairdressing, and Beauty Therapists have a Certificate IV, so clients can have peace of mind knowing they’re in the best hands,” said Stephan Lattouf, the hair stylist who invented the app.

Therapists obviously arrive with all the tools and products needed to perform your selected service, and clean up afterwards, so it is literally the equivalent of going to a salon without leaving home. Imagine being able to watch a few episodes of Suits while the baby sleeps, all while getting a new lob or ombre colour.

Service prices start from $39 for a blow dry or $40 for a men’s cut. Dial A Style is available on the iPhone App Store and Android App on Google Play.
