HUDSON COUNTY – The Hudson County Board of Chosen Freeholders approves the awarding of competitive contracts for the operation, administration, and management of social services programs for 2015 by the Hudson County Office of Aging. The grant will be for the term of January 1, 2015 thru December 31, 2015.  The grant amount is $1,754,322.

Chairman E. Junior Maldonado and the Hudson County Board of Chosen Freeholders are committed to providing the necessary resources to assist municipalities, community organizations, and non-profit organizations of Hudson County dealing with issues pertaining to aging, disability and health.

Hudson County Board of Chosen Freeholders approves $1.7 in grants for AIDS and alcohol/drug abuse

The Hudson County Board of Freeholders also approved the County of Hudson to apply and accept funds from the U.S. Department of Justice Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance grant program totaling $244,570 for fiscal year 2015.The purpose of the program is to allow each municipality to provide a broad range of activities to prevent and control crime based on their own particular needs and conditions.

The following towns will receive funding: Bayonne, Hoboken, Jersey City, Union City and West New York.

The program will run from October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2018.
