No, we aren’t pulling your leg. This spread of games is being offered up in the Freedom Bundle from Humble Bundle.
In addition to games such as Super Meat Boy, The Stanley Parable, The Witness and other games you’ll also get seven books including The Smart Girls Guide to Privacy, Information Doesn’t Want To Be Free and A Little Gold Book of Ghastly Stuff.
The total value of the bundle is said to be $600 (R7970).
You might be scratching your head as we were because this doesn’t seem like a regular Humble Bundle, and that’s because it isn’t.
The store front is donating all the money it makes from this bundle to the American Civil Liberties Union, the International Rescue Committee and Doctors Without Borders and speaking out about a particular nation’s president.
“We humbly remember that the United States is a nation of immigrants, and we proudly stand with developers, authors, and charities that champion liberty and justice for all,” says the store.
“We chose these three organizations because of the inspiring work they do in providing humanitarian assistance to refugees and displaced people as well as in defense of justice, human rights, and civil rights,” said Humble Bundle.
At time of writing $1.8 million had been donated with $300 000 of that coming from Humble Bundle itself.
All of the games can be redeemed on Steam (some are DRM free) and the books can be claimed in PDF, ePUB and MOBI formats.
If we’re honest this is a rather tempting offer and since it is Valentine’s Day why not treat those you love to a free game, it is for a good cause after all.
