Youth Summer Musical Camp

The Conservatory of Music offers the Summer Musical Camp to students who are interested in studying serious Musical Theater. This intense two week camp culminates in three presentations of a full length Broadway Musical, Brigadoon.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to noon or 2 to 5 p.m. Performers are encouraged to prepare a 90 second vocal piece for their audition and should be prepared to dance.

Three performances of the musical will be presented at the CAC. On Saturday July 20, there will be performances at 2 and 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, July 21, the show will begin at 2 p.m.

All-State Choir Camp

All-State Choir Camp is open to high school choir students who would like to prepare for the TMEA All-State Choir auditions.

Camp includes sectional rehearsals, a private voice lesson, sight singing, and audition hints, along with a pizza party, movie night and ice cream sundaes. Camp will open Friday, June 11, at 11 a.m. with a read through of all the music to be covered during camp. Family members are welcome to attend this performance. Camp will conclude at noon on Wednesday, June 14.

Drum Major/ Color Guard Camp with Steven Moss Leadership Academy

Steven Moss, the creator and director of the Steven Moss Academy is in high demand as a drum major clinician and adjudicator. He has more than a decade of highly successful drum majoring experience and spends the majority of his summers giving marching and leadership workshops to students. Mr. Moss has been a drum major for the Delta Brigade Drum and Bugle Corps,  the Henderson State University "Show band of Arkansas" and the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps.

Drum majors will learn conducting, teaching and leadership skills. Color guard members will learn technical training, performance quality, development of movement skills and confidence.

Explore Cru Nursing Summer Camp

The Elite camp is an intensive camp designed for the serious football athlete. The camp will include individual skill and technique drills and group instruction. The camp is non-contact.

UMHB Little Cru Football Camp

Little Cru Football camp teaches the fundamentals of football while having fun. Kids will be grouped in the same age range and will learn offensive, defensive and kicking skills.

UMHB Volleyball 2013 Summer Clinics

This camp is designed for elementary and middle school aged players looking to strengthen their fundamentals and take their game to the next level. Each camper will be provided with a t-shirt.

Hitting Clinic- July 17

This afternoon camp will focus on the fundamentals of hitting, including approach footwork, hitting tempos, and shot selection.

Defense and Ball Control Clinic- July 18

Coaches will work with athletes to improve their passing, serving, and defensive fundamentals.

Setting Clinic- July 19

Campers will spend the afternoon sharpening every aspect of their setting game, including: footwork, hand positioning, and movement to the ball. By the end of camp, they will be able to better utilize setting tactics and set from every position on the court.

Elite Camp- July 14-16

This is an overnight camp for the college bound athletes. Players should be in great physical condition and used to a high volume of intense training.

Program offers group and private swim lessons which follow the Red Cross “Learn to Swim” levels, focusing on water safety skills and swimming fundamentals.  Swimmers are grouped by age and skill level; classes are limited to a small number of students. Each session consists of eight lessons, 45 minutes each.

Mom/Dad & Me: Designed for ages 9 months to 3 years.  Parents must be in the pool during the lesson.  Toddlers learn water acclimation and begin swimming fundamentals.   Limit 10 parent/child pairs per class.  Available times: 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m.

Pre-School: Designed for ages 4-6, less than 42" tall.  Children learn swimming fundamentals and water safety.  Limit 8 per class.  Available times: 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m.

Level 1: Child should be a non-swimmer, or have had little experience in the water. If she/he can swim the pool width (10 yards), she/he does not need Beginner, but the next higher level. Designed for ages 6 and up. Limit 8 per class.

Level 2/3:  Must be a holder of the American Red Cross Level 1 Card or possess adequate skill to perform swim on side & tread water without support.  Limit 8 per class.

Level 4 (Advanced Beginner):  Must be a holder of the American Red Cross Level 3 Card or possess adequate skill to jump into deep water without support and swim the width of the pool on their belly and back.  Limit 8 per class.

Level 5 (Intermediate Swimmer):  Must be a holder of the American Red Cross Level 4 Card or possess adequate skill to dive into deep water, tread water for 2 minutes, swim the front crawl for 25 yards, and swim elementary backstroke the width of the pool.  Available only at 10:00am and 4:00pm.  Limit 6 per class.

Level 6 (Advanced Swimmer):  Must be a holder of the American Red Cross Level 5 Card or possess adequate skill to perform the elementary backstroke 25 yards, front crawl 50 yards, side stroke 10 yards, and tread water for 2 minutes.  Available only at 10:00am and 4:00pm.  Limit 6 per class.
