Position: Senior Director, Resource Development, Midwest
Location: 14571 Palmer Blvd., Homewood, IL 60430
Summary:
This position is a recognized servant-leader in developing and nurturing various development relationships for CHF’s Midwest Region in fulfillment of CHF’s mission. Including but not limited to: gift-in-kind (GIK) relationships with corporations, non-profit organizations and churches; donor relations; and planned giving. Participates in formation of annual development strategy. Travel required within the region and occasionally nationally.
Responsibilities Include:
Participate in formation of annual development plan for the region; provide timely and accurate reports and updates on development programs, initiatives, and activity.
Serve as a Major Gift Officer in the region, effectively caring for and encouraging donor relationships.
Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with corporations regarding GIK donations (food, clothing, toys, medical supplies, school supplies, hygiene items); provide creative, meaningful and timely feedback reports.
Develop and maintain relationships with local churches for mutually encouraging service opportunities, implementing such events as Food Pak Projects, Mobile Pak Projects, School Pak Projects.
Participate in the ongoing development and implementation of CHF’s planning giving program.
Raise awareness of CHF in the community: organize and host corporate/team volunteer events at CHF locations; participate in and/or represent CHF at community and/or donor events.
Coordinate with other regional personnel for effective integration and support of development programs with all aspects of regional ministry.
Research sources for effective purchase of Food Pak product when needed.
Qualifications include:
Confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; active member of a local evangelical Christian church; demonstrates ongoing growth in Christian maturity
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or certification in fundraising, or equivalent knowledge and experience
7 years of related business or ministry leadership experience, including planned giving, donor relations (at all donor levels)
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and relationship-building skills, able to speak publicly and professionally on behalf of CHF
A self-starter with proven record of meeting and/or exceeding established goals
Creative and innovative yet organized, able to propose, promote, implement and follow up on various events
Demonstrated integrity to maintain and foster both individual and CHF reputation in the community
Competent user of Windows/MS Office/Internet, able to quickly learn new software applications
Donor management software experience (e.g., Raiser’s Edge)
