Richard asks…

What are some Ideas for FUN wedding receptions and Songs to get EVERYONE dancing!?

I do not want the guests to think the wedding was just typical So two questions -

1. What are some good songs/dances that will get everyone out on the dancefloor? (Young to Old)

2. What could I do to spice up the wedding? (games, slideshows, etc).

I’d love to hear your ideas and hopefully get some ideas to involve the guests (dancing or otherwise) so they dont end up just sitting at their seats all night, not having a good time! {At my FI’s brothers wedding, most of his family just sat around talking}

Background info – His family are not huge dancers or drinkers, while mine some will dance and many will drink lol. I want it to be a good time, but still have his family feel comfortable.

ConnieManuel answers:

If you want your wedding to be unique, you really need to think about what you want. What is it that would make this day really special for YOU and your HUSBAND.

What songs do you love more than anything. What would make you get up and dance?

If you focus on that first, then think about the generations of people who will be at the wedding. Young? Older? In Between? A mix of all of them?

When you have showers, ask people there to write their favorite dancing songs on the back of the cards. Look at them and give them to the DJ. If you get feedback from both families you will have a good mix of songs.

To set the mood, why not ask both parents what their wedding song was and then after you and your new hubby have your dance – play those two songs and invite your parents and in-laws to share the dance with you! How nice would that be?

Remember – it is your families. If you get them involved just a bit it will certainly be wonderful!

Have a terrific day!
