Robert asks…

Guitar song Using C, D, G chords.?

Need a beginner song using G major, C major and D major chords, Its for a guitar lesson I’m giving. Any old song

Thanks

ConnieManuel answers:

Consider “Amazing Grace.” The old hymn is a three-quarter meter composition using those three chords mentioned in the key of G.

Lizzie asks…

what are some guitar songs with the chord progression G C D G?

I need it preferably just something with a rhythm of these three chords, with just rhythm and vocal.

ConnieManuel answers:

Can’t You See by the Marshall Tucker Band is D-C-G-D and is a slow song so pretty easy to play. Sweet Child of Mine is D-Csus2-G-D which isn’t very hard. The Csus2 is the same as a G except you move your first and second finger down one string.

Thomas asks…

easy songs with chords of A – C – D – E – G?

ConnieManuel answers:

I dont know what chords this song uses, but you can find them anywhere on the internet

ConnieManuel answers:

Just change it to G C D C and you have the chords for half the guitar pop songs written. Hang on Sloopy.

Joseph asks…

Songs I can play on guitar if I only know these chords: G, Em, A, Am, D, C?

What are some popular/recognizable (preferrably country, rock, pop) that I can play knowing only the following chords: G, Em, A, Am, D, C

I’m a begginer guitar player! So far I know margaritaville by Jimmy Buffet and Im Yours by Jason Mraz.

please help, thanks lots :]

ConnieManuel answers:

For most songs you need a tonic, dominant and sub-dominant chord in one key. In the group you listed, D, A, and G are the chords for the key of D. G, C and D are for the key of G, and A, E and D are for the key of A (and if you can play Em, you can play E, it’s not much different). In fact most rock songs are ‘three chord songs’ that you can play with those three chords. To play in the key of C you need F, which is a little harder.

There must be books of current rock songs that have chords, with diagrams and everything. Pick songs that you know MOST chords, and use them as an excuse to learn one or two more chords.

Also work on barre chords because they increase your capabilities enormously because each chord can be played up and down the keyboard and so it’s many chords. You need to build up strength in your left hand, and this takes time, so be patient.

William asks…

can anyone tell me some songs i could learn on guitar with only these three chords. g c and d cause those are?

really the only ones i know other than e5 and i have trouble with it so please just answer me people

ConnieManuel answers:

Jingle bells, its easy but you need to add Amin in one or two parts, but its easy cus its ease to transition from C to Amin
