Laura asks…

What are some good wii games? (shooter and misc)?

I have wii sports and guitar hero world tour at the moment.

I only have one wiimote so multiplayer games won’t be that fun.

I’m planning to get one shooter game and another one just for fun. (No paper mario or mario galaxy because i borrowed them before)

NydiaMccartney answers:

Well all give you a list of 5 of so. You can go to http://wii.ign.com/ to get reviews and crap on vid games.

Call of Duty World At War- it is a great shooter for the wii. Probably the best. There is a game called the conduit that is comeing out june.23rd which will be alot better then COD:WaW but if you can not wait get COD

No More Heroes-its really fun and replayable single player. It has the best boss battles. Another good game like this is madworld but no more heroes is like $20 new and madworld is $49.99. I personally like NMH more.

Rune Factory Frontier- this is a RPG/life Sim. This game well last you a long time. If you dont like RPGs or harvest moon type games then it wont be for you. You basically do dungeon crawling and farming.

Mario Kart-its an online racer. Its really good and arcadey. Its online so it dose not matter that you only have 1 wiimote.

Bully Scholorship Edition-its a sandbox game. Its a teen rated GTA if you want a more mature one theres godfather and scarface but i personally like bully the best out of those 3.

Now if you do not want to spend that much for a full priced game you can go VC or wiiware. All just list some good wiiware games but no decreptions(sorry)

megaman 2($5)

Mega man 3($5)

Mega Man 9($10) mega man games are really hard

sonic the hedgehog 2($8)

super mario world($8)

LOZ:ocarina of time($10)

LOZ:a link to the past($8)

Betty asks…

Donna asks…

how much would factory sealed Wii games be worth in 20 years?

popular nintendo games like zelda and mario, factory sealed. i see old snes games going for high prices so i was wondering how much a factory sealded wii game would go for in 20 years

NydiaMccartney answers:

Are you the same person who was thinking of setting aside a Wii System for the next 20 years to see how much it would be worth then?

It would depend on the title, for one thing. You might think that the most popular titles would be worth the most 20 years from now (like Super Mario Galaxy or Zelda: Twilight Princess), but sometimes it’s the obscure or hard to find titles that end up being worth the most.

Either way, no one is going to know for sure right now… So, I’m just going to give you my “best guess”.

I would say that a brand new, factory sealed copy of “Super Mario Galaxy” would go for around 200 to 300 bucks twenty years from now. But who knows… It could be worth A LOT more than that (it all depends on HOW MANY people keep some brand new copies of those games around today).

Oh… I know… If you are going to do this, try and pick up a couple of copies of “WarioWare: Smooth Moves” brand new. That game is already “out of print” and is already going for more than the regular price of the game on “amazon”. I would think that that game would go for QUITE a bit 20 years from now, because it is ALREADY TODAY going for more than the original price.

And… If you’ve got the money… You might want to pick up a few “Guitar Hero World Tour: Band Kit” for the Wii. That is the package that comes with the entire band kit (the guitar, the drums, the microphone and such). That is also “Out of Print” now, and was also VERY POPULAR when it originally came out. If you can afford picking up a few of those brand new, I would just about bet anything that those would be worth a large bundle of money 20 years from now (as long as they were still unopened and factory sealed and the box was in mint condition). (I mean, some people are already asking 600 bucks for that package on Amazon!)

You also might think about setting aside a few unopened systems and controllers and other things as well. Some of the different “attachments” and things might end up being worth A LOT twenty years from now, because most people wouldn’t think to save those type of things (they would think of saving the system, or the games, but maybe not some of the different controllers and attachments and such).

Notes/Quotes:

“I used a Mesa Boogie power amp, an ADA preamp, and an Aphex Parametric EQ on this album. We wanted a clean guitar sound for ‘One.’ The first solo went fine, but I had trouble with the second; I just couldn’t nail it. I only had eight days to record all my leads because we were heading out on the ‘Monster’s of Rock’ tour. As a result, I was never happy with what was on the record, and I flew to the Hit Factory in New York between gigs to patch up the solos. I did the third solo in a couple of hours. I worked out the first right-hand tapping thing and from there it flowed very well. I think it worked because I was so pissed off that the second solo wasn’t working out. When I had to play that live, it didn’t feel right because it was so clean. So I started playing it full volume with full distortion on my neck pickup, and liked it better. In retrospect, I think I should have played it that way on the album.” Guitar World, October 1991

Ken asks…

What has happened in hayley williams life?

i have to write a report about a musician and im choosing to do one about hayley williams from paramore. if anyone knows anything about what has happend in her life, what is she famous for, what type of music, etc. also links are very helpfull

NydiaMccartney answers:

Hayley Nichole Williams (born December 27, 1988 in Meridian, Mississippi) is an American rock singer and songwriter.[1] She is the lead vocalist of the rock band Paramore.

In 2002 at the age of 14, Hayley moved to Franklin, Tennessee where she met fellow band members Josh and Zac Farro in school.[2][3] Shortly after arriving, she began taking vocal lessons with Brett Manning. While still in school she tried out for a local funk cover band called The Factory, where she met Jeremy Davis. After The Factory disbanded, Hayley and Jeremy began writing songs with the Farro brothers and became Paramore. In 2005, John Janick, founder of record label Fueled by Ramen, signed a contract with them. Hayley commented about the signing, saying, “Fueled By Ramen has been amazing to us. So many kids started checking us out because our name is on their roster. It’s like a big family; we all share such a massive unit of fans.”[4] She has also done guest vocals on ‘Then Came to Kill’ by the Chariot, ‘Keep Dreaming Upside Down’ by October Fall, ‘Fallen’ by Death in the Park, ‘Tangled Up’ by New Found Glory, ‘The Church Channel’ and ‘Plea’ by Say Anything, and appeared in the music video for ‘Kiss Me’ by New Found Glory.[citation needed] Also in the 2008 Kerrang! Readers Poll she won second sexiest female. She also won Sexiest Female in the 2009 Kerrang Readers Poll, and sexiest female in the NME awards 2009.[citation needed]

Paramore was created in Franklin, Tennessee in 2004. Consisting of Hayley Williams as lead singer and keyboard, Josh Farro as lead Guitar and back up vocals, Jeremy Davis with the bass guitar and Zac Farro on the drums. Taylor York plays rhythm guitar when the band is on tour. Prior to forming Paramore, however, Williams and bassist Jeremy Davis took part in a funk cover band called The Factory, while the Farro brothers had practiced together after school.[5] The other members of what was soon to be Paramore had been “edgy about the whole female thing” of having Williams as vocalist, but because they were really good friends she started writing for them and eventually became a member.[6]. The band has released two albums, All We Know Is Falling and Riot!. They also released an album from one of their shows on tour. This album was called The Final Riot!.

She is friends with the Cyrus family, with whom she grew up.[7]

Steven asks…

What are the specs on angus young’s sg guitar?

What type of pickups does he use (the year model of those pickups) and what color is his sg? anything you can come up with thanks.

NydiaMccartney answers:

I remember reading this in an article in Guitar Player magazine many years ago.

When Angus got his first SG, it was actually a factory second. This means that there was something about it that didn’t meet spec (usually a finish flaw or a dimension on the guitar that was off). He didn’t realize this until later when he went back to purchase another one.

It turns out that his first SG had a neck that was thinner than the Gibson spec called for and that’s what he got used to. He asked them if they would make him a few more “seconds”!

Unfortunately, Gibson does not follow this practice anymore. Any guitar that doesn’t meet spec is disassembled and shredded. A friend of mine just got back from touring the Gibson factory in Nashville. While there, he saw an entire cart of ES-335′s that were heading to the shredder. They will not sell them or let employees have them.

And that’s part of the reason that Gibson’s have gotten so darned expensive.

Greetings from Austin, TX

Ken
