The successful candidate will support the global deployment framework project. This is a project that will make significant progress in standardizing the way global projects and program are delivered to the regions. The scope of the project includes all domains and regions in Upstream IT&S and will involve engagement with many stakeholders including CIOs and Program Managers. Project governance, guides/templates and process maturity are also in scope.
This role involves following a Project Delivery method throughout the Project Lifecycle. Working with the business team and stakeholders to ensure appropriate project requirements and governance.
This is an innovative and evolving position where the selected candidate will play a key role in the successful development and deployment of a Global Deployment Framework which will improve the success and efficiency of global deployments for Upstream IT&S.
Deliverables:
Develop requirements gathering and estimating best practice
Determine and agree Program Management lifecycle
Interview community members and determine impact and benefits to stakeholder groups
Document processes by region on how to deploy
Facilitate agreement on the governance model for global deployments
Develop a list of principles for project success and managing challenges
Determine best practice for regional vs. central financial planning and associated templates
Conduct Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and the development of associated maps where appropriate
Stakeholder management – tracking and influencing stakeholders
Gathering community feedback and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
Support the Project Manager in the development of the project plan
Experience:
Knowledge of stage gate process and underlying project methodologies
Experience of Global Deployment projects and/or Program Management
Knowledge and experience of stakeholder management tools, tips and techniques
Experience of conducting interviews and focus groups
Knowledge of various Project Governance/steering board models
Experience in data and process modelling, using a structure approach. Experience of process mapping
Significant experience working in the Oil and Gas Upstream Energy sector
Experience working with technical and non-technical teams across a broad range of IT disciplines and geographies.
Proven ability to develop test/evaluation strategies and proven experience of working with the business to coordinate the implementation of a strategy.
Proven experience in completing strategic reviews and developing solutions that have then been implemented and successfully provided business benefit.
Proven experience of presenting/selling ideas into a senior management team.
Implementation of best practice standards in project delivery management and governance.
