SUMMARY:
Provide technical subject matter expertise on all aspects of mobility including device management, security policy, application development and deployment. The Mobile SME must apply proven communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, problem-solving, business knowledge, and technical skills and leadership to help with the enterprise mobility strategy and the design, implementation and support of mobile devices and applications. This role entails deep understanding of at least one mobile platform or technology to recommend and lead mobile solutions and strategy that maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
Acquire in depth knowledge of a mobile platform or technology and their technical capabilities and challenges
Acquire breadth of knowledge across business areas and their opportunities for mobile tactics
Advocate technology best practices for mobile design and development as it pertains to all platforms and delivery methods, email, and mobile content delivery
Observe technical direction and integration strategy in mobile solutions to meet current business needs and to allow for future flexibility and growth
Lead the research, planning and certification of supported mobile devices for the enterprise
Lead the strategic analysis, proof-of-concept, and prototyping initiatives to prepare for utilization of new platform and technology
Lead the development of strategy, policies and procedures on how to support mobile devices within the organization
Work closely with other IT organizations to analyze how they are using/supporting the devices to be able to provide an ongoing support strategy
Lead the planning, creation and deployment of security and device management policies
Provide hands-on technical support in the deployment of devices with scripting and other automation methods for the installation of software/hardware when required
Lead the design of mobile architectures and application frameworks across various devices and platforms
Provide hands-on technical support in the testing of various devices for functionality and compatibility with the network and existing infrastructure when required
Acquire clear understanding and capabilities of 3rd party mobile technologies and how they fit into our IT solution
Participate in selection of 3rd party solutions based on business needs and architecture standards for mobile initiatives
Build partnership with business and IT organizations to align deliverables
Build partnership with 3rd party consulting teams for successful project delivery
Proactively maintain knowledge of current and emerging mobility trends in the industry
Proactively maintain knowledge of device and platform trends and update roadmap to improve application health and enhance capabilities
Participate in mobility strategy and roadmap development that align with company’s vision and mission
Contribute, understand and adhere to mobile processes, standards, and technical approaches relevant to assigned platform or technology
Provide after hours support activities as required
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership team
REQUIREMENTS:
H.S. Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred
Minimum 10+ years of Information Technology experience
Minimum 5+ years of lead role relating to technical development or infrastructure
Minimum 5+ years of experience in architecting and developing mobile applications in an enterprise setting, including security and infrastructure integration
Minimum 2+ years of experience in building, releasing, and maintaining mobile applications
Experience with enterprise-level mobile device management/synchronization application
Experience in design, development and implementation in 1 or more mobile technology software platforms and relevant SDKs is a plus: iOS (Apple), Blackberry (RIM), Android (Google), Windows Mobile (Microsoft)
Experience with 3rd party APIs, tools, and functionality (i.e. Google Maps, YouTube, Facebook, etc.)
Experience with Social Media applications
Knowledge of web centric content delivery and related systems and technologies
Knowledge of mobile device and application management
Knowledge of wireless technologies
Knowledge of network technologies
Knowledge of internet technologies and collaboration services
Knowledge of user interface design
Knowledge of back-end connectivity to database systems and external applications
