Summary: (Sr. Developer Position)
Java developer position working on our Ticketing engine and website. It entails a mixture of design and development work as well as database management and performance tuning.
The Senior Java Developer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Java based components and interfaces. The Senior Developer should have a broad understanding of various coding methodologies, testing practice, and tools and know when to apply each method to achieve the desired outcomes.
The Senior Developer will work to build the development skills with the Development Team in the areas of:
Java
SQL and database administration
Test driven development
Design patterns – Object Oriented Concepts
Refactoring techniques
Debugging techniques/tools
Readability, extensibility and testability of code
Documentation
Web application security
Performance testing and tuning
The ideal candidate must display excellent written and oral skills with demonstrated interpersonal and organization abilities. An ideal candidate for this position must be able to work in a varied, fast paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
Supports the entire software development life cycle including maintenance.
Responsible for code asset management for applications, and support and promotes asset reuse.
Performs unit/integrated completed system testing according to detailed functional specification.
Supports the implementation of systems into production.
Assists team members performing system maintenance, research, code reviews, and support tasks.
Utilizes accepted methodologies and tools in a disciplined manner.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or related experience.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Ability to work additional hours as needed.
