ROAD TRIP! Summer, summer, summer time… cars full of people and faces full of smiles.

If you’re off to Soundwave, Croatia, this year take a road trip through some of the best cities in Europe and go to one of the free parties in each place!

Here’s a choice of routes… now you just need to choose which friends to travel with!

ROUTE 1
London (3rd) > Amsterdam (4th) > Munich (5th) > Soundwave (6th)

London | August 3rd

Meeting Place: Stour Space | (www.stourspace.co.uk).

About: Stour Space is an Art Gallery sitting on the Canal overlooking the River Lea in Hackney Wick. One of London’s most unique (and tucked away) venues. 6 years ago the venue was disused and on the brink of brink of destroyed, it now operate as a gallery space, cafe/bar with 20+ studio spaces housing artists, jewellers, designers and more. The venue’s programme in 2015 is looking strong – merging the lines between music, visuals, live art, film, photography – the gallery space, food, pontoon on the river and the views are special!

What’s Happening: Music & Live Art from previous Soundwave Artists. Food & Drink available during the day, all made and brewed locally.

Amsterdam | August 4th

Meeting Place: Amsterdam Roest | (www.amsterdamroest.nl).

About: Another extremely unique venue. Opening in 2011 Roest took over the historical Cold Gas Building at Oostenburgereiland and transformed it into a space with studio spaces, galleries, warehouse, garden, bus/food truck… a farm (with a number of different animals)… and a beach on the Canal!… It has become one of Amsterdam’s most creative hubs.

What’s Happening: Amsterdam’s Red Light Radio have built a reputation to become one of THE best independent Radio Stations in Europe. The Zielkracht collective () run an all vinyl session on the Station and will host a free party on the 4th, Hip Hop – Soul – Reggae & Dance flavours on the “beach”…

Munich | August 5th

Meeting Place: Milla Jazz Club | (www.facebook.com/MillaLiveClub)

About: Milla used to be a long kept secret but is these days one of the best locations for jazz jam sessions. It feels more like 90’s Berlin than modern Munich and probably is the best place in town for underground live music.

What’s Happening: Arrive at Milla best Jazz Club and be blown away.

Paris | August 4th

Meeting Place: Secret Venue (TBA to Run To The Sun ticket buyers)

What’s Happening: Rinse FM regulars Lost Grooves (www.facebook.com/LostGroovesProduction/) have gained a reputation for digging the finest in Disco, Boogie, Modern Soul and Rare Grooves. All vinyl business… They’re planning a party in the French capital in a super special underground location.

Milan | August 5th

Meeting Place: Tunnel Club | (http://www.tunnel-milano.it/)

About: The location is an old tunnel under the railway of Milan close to Central Station. The brick walls and steel pipes are still intact.

What’s Happening: Future Ground (www.futureground.it) & CT-Hi Records (www.soundcloud.com/ ct-hi-records ) connecting to organise a party in the heart of Milan. Future Ground host the the best parties in the city, they’ve invited everyone from Mr Scruff to Benji B to Kutmah to Seven Davis Jr to Bilal. CT-Hi Records are a label destined for great things, heavily championed by the likes of Lefto & DJ Amir, they’re releases have received support from the likes of XLR8r and DLSO, take a listen and proceed to follow!

Berlin | August 4th

About: ://about blank is a formerly illegal, multi-room club by Ostrkeuz S-Bahnhof in Friedrichshain. It’s a lightly renovated re-purposed building with seemingly endless nooks and crannies. The overall atmosphere is gritty, and the parties often go well into the following afternoon or evening. What’s Happening: Impulse (www.facebook.com/ImpulseBerlin) have run a monthly party for more than 4 years in the ://about blank – one of the cities hottest clubs – and broadcast their monthly radio show on BLN.FM – Berlins only independent radio station. They’re one of a kind in Berlin, a city run by House and Techno. Impulse explore the deep, dark & meditative sides of Dubstep/Dub – previous guests include Mala, Goth Trad, Loefah, Pinch and Vivek.

Prague | August 5th

Budapest | August 5th

About: This venue is also extremely unique. An ex dental practice, renovated to become a functional space with a homey atmosphere. Meeting point for Budapest artistic movement, Fogasház is a versatile space that accommodates small and large groups and a variety of events. In one week, you might find yourself visiting a new art exhibition, catching a film screening, participating in a workshop, or dancing to the newest DJs.

The biggest attraction is a cosy garden where you can drink, chat, and mingle amongst the huge trees, natural sunlight, and the smell of freshly grilled food.

What’s Happening: Budapest based crew NIGHTDRIVE will be taking over Run To The Sun for a night all about new music, may it come from the world of hip-hop, house or funk it does not matter. Keeping things fresh and new with respect for those who preceded them is what their brand is all about. Their mission is to put Budapest on the map, hosting artists and shows locally and globally. Previous shows include Flako, Dam Funk, Lone and Peanut Butter Wolf, just to name a few.

Zagreb | August 4th

About: The Swanky Mint is a renovated dry cleaning and textile-dye factory dating back to the late 19th century. Combining the industrial machinery that littered the site with new technology, the Mint has created a comfortable eco-friendly atmosphere that makes it a very special place to visit. A beautiful bar and relaxing terrace along with a mix of private rooms, Swanky is the perfect combination for a night of amazing music and the best accommodation in the vibrant earth of Zagreb.

What’s Happening: Whateverest (https://www.facebook.com/whateverest14) is the name of the musical journey started by the duo of dj champs Anto Anto and Indy. Anto Anto (https:// www.facebook.com/aaaaantoanto) is currently residing in Zagreb, but he has also spent several years in Budapest, where he presented his vision of dance music, residing in many DJ booths. Also a member of the Hungarian collective BOUNCE, which is operating a label called 8ounce records. Indy (https://www.facebook.com/indy1401) is a heavy hip hop head. Active member of the Croatian club scene for over 10 years now playing all sorts of venues – from the nitty gritty underground clubs to the top spots on the Adriatic coast.

Zadar | August 5th

About: Lounge bar and restaurant perched on the old city walls of Zadar. Once described as one of the best bars in the world, you are able to watch the world go by with the view overlooking the Dalmatian coastline, and Zadar’s city walls and harbour.

What’s Happening: Soundwave Residents set to turn up unannounced in Zadar, the night before the festival starts.

Dubrovnik (4th) > Split (5th) > Soundwave (6th)

Dubrovnik | August 4th

Meeting Place: Eastwest Beach Club (http://ew-dubrovnik.com)

About: A must visit when you’re in Dubrovnik – it has earned a reputation for attracting a crowd of hipsters, models, locals and visitors throughout the day and night. The club perfectly blends the need for relaxation and fun during the day with the urge to enjoy a vibrant and cosmopolitan party mood by night.
