KONGOS

KONGOS is a rock band of four brothers (Johnny, Jesse, Dylan and Danny Kongos) - sons of South African/British singer-songwriter John Kongos, best known for his two international hits ‘He's Gonna Step On You Again’ and ‘Tokoloshe Man’. They grew up in London and South Africa and are now based in Phoenix, Arizona.

Their debut album was self-released in 2007, receiving glowing reviews and gaining them local acclaim in Arizona.

After being playlisted on 5FM, the biggest TOP 40 station in South Africa, the first single “I’m Only Joking” from their new album “Lunatic” went on to hit No. 1 on the Tuks FM rock chart and was the most requested song for 11 weeks in a row. The band is now on their 7th single, with 5 TOP 40 hits and several #1/Top 10 hits on various charts, making the album a top seller and the No. 1 download for 6 weeks.

KONGOS followed the South African release of the album (JUST MUSIC) with a sold-out tour of the country which included headlining spots on several major festivals including the world-famous Oppikoppi Festival and Rocking The Daisies.

In July 2012, they followed the “soft-release” of Lunatic with a North American tour, including showcases in LA, Toronto, NYC (CMJ), and 2 sold out shows at the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix. They then returned to South Africa in November once more to open for Linkin Park on their stadium tour, playing to more than 100,000 people.

The band has just returned from their first European tour in Jan-Feb, 2013 supporting DISPATCH with stops in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark and the Netherlands, followed by several UK dates supporting AWOLNATION.

In March, they will play the McDowell Mountain Festival and several showcases at SXSW.

Dry River Yacht Club

Sailing Musicians upon a yacht, upon the seas we sailed. When one day sailing on board our ship, through a storm we had to prevail. The storm took us and threw us, and tossed us around. It bumped us and blew us. It soaked us and shook us. .

Mergence

Mostly derived from the several reviews, articles both in print and on the web:
Blues, indie, classic rock, all coexisting as one in the passion-, soul-driven four-piece band Mergence — a band that will not only draw you in, but keep you on your toes and soles, while you sway with every note.
Compared to the likes of The Black Keys, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and Pink Floyd, it is undeniable that Mergence's distinctive trait is the passion and soul infused in the performance of each track.

The bands meditative lyrics are as raw as its sound, threading themes of life, love, sex and death. Their tracks evoke a strong reaction from their devout, diverse following, from young to old and from all walks of life. With an earthy, catchy sound, Mergence is as real as it gets. Their live shows and performances are an unequivocal match to the quality of their tracks and album — because they're recorded mostly live, too — packaged into a lustfully smooth sound, collaboratively and effortlessly produced by the band's diverse members, including vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Adam Bruce, Yod on guitar, Brandon Shupe on bass and Jason Roedl rounding out the rhythm section on the drums.

LADYLIKE

The quirky pomp and camp that is Ladylike began when former bandmates Rob Kroehler (vocals, guitar, piano) and Ryan Casey (guitar, banjo) went underway looking for new musicians to join their creative escapades. That same year, Alex Tighe (keyboards, etc.) and Ethan Hillis (drums) moved home to Phoenix looking for the same thing. Through a culmination of studio sessions and live rehearsals, Ladylike was formed and a three-song EP (Ladylike, Vol. 1) was released. One year later, Ladylike locked down their final permanent member, Austin Owen (bass) and began working on their distinguished sound.

By April 2011, Ladylike hit the road to record their self-titled debut album in Eudora, Kansas at Blacklodge Recording with engineer-producer Nick Day. The album calls-to- mind a wide array of influences–from 50s pop to 90s Brit rock. Its first single, Cinema Kiss, was released in November 2011. Ladylike has taken the stage with national acts such as Fun., Squeeze, Kopecky Family Band, and Young the Giant. With pop-oriented, harmony-laden tunes, Ladylike brings a sense of unbridled charisma that sticks with their audiences.

Ladylike's LP hit the shelves (and the web) in early April 2012.

Fayuca

Fayuca is a three- peice PUNK ROCK/ REGGAE band from Phoenix, Arizona. The bands style is rooted in REGGAE/ DUB, with SUBLIME and RX BANDITS cited as heavy influences. There is an obvious SPANISH influence in the band's music as well. In 2004, FAYUCA released their debut album, WALK WEST, on local punk rock label LOCK AND KEY RECORDS. By their second release in 2005 (BLACK MARKET) FAYUCA began to build serious momentum through consistent touring; And the release of "THE ASSASSINATION" in 2009 was well worth the wait!

FUTURE LOVES PAST

"Future Loves Past somehow combines indie rock, psychedelia, Americana, outright folk music, country embellishments, a touch of British Invasion and hints of 1970s classic rock with flourishes of 80s synth work […] the aural amazement at their shows can't be denied in any capacity."
