Young up and coming DJ/producer Pete Graham out of Birmingham has been on the tip of tech house producers’ tongues for the last few months, having received early support on original and unreleased material from the likes of Dirtybird label boss and tech house legend Claud VonStroke, Eats Everything, and Justin Martin, to name a few. Now, we finally see Pete Graham’s release of a banger EP titled Friends as he makes his debut on Food Music, the label imprint of Shadow Child and Kry Wolf!

Providing four original mixes and collaborations with producer friends Marc Spence, Chris Lorenzo, Mark Starr, and Thomas Graham, the Friends EP is a diverse mix of tech house and house, showing off the producing potential of Pete Graham and giving us just a glimpse of what can be expected from the young producer in the future. The first track off the EP is the funky mix Who Dat, which has a gritty, sexy bass-line littered with techy sound effects and vocal samples, and a heavy drop of bass that will demolish the dance floor. The aptly titled Wom (a perfect word for describing for the overall sound of the track) is a bit deeper, and the use of lines from The Wizard of Oz over the track only adds to darker, twisted nature of the track. Something In The Water is our personal favorite off the EP, a groovy, housey banger that uses a sweet percussive line with repeating chords that give off a classic sound – a surefire hit that you can expect to hear creeping through sound systems at your favorite after-hours. Last but not least is Finding Neverland, which brings back the deep, heavy bass-line along with hype vocals, whistles, and various percussion to keep the club rocking. Having already received support from the likes of Dubfire, Roska, and more, the Friends EP is without question a great addition for any tech house/techno DJ’s catalog.

Keep your ears open for more from Pete Graham, as for having such a great debut EP on Food Music, we can only imagine what’s in store for 2014. Until then, check out the Friends EP on the Food Music label now!
