One of the most anticipated albums of the summer is finally here, and it’s a collaboration between two of the biggest names in the underground scene: tech house/techno legend Loco Dice and the prestigious Defected Records label have joined forces to bring you Defected Presents Loco Dice In The House! This hot two disc compilation album mixed by Loco Dice features new unreleased music from his Desolat imprint, as well as the finest techno and tech house from a large variety of artists, from veteran producers like Kerri Chandler and Dice himself, to young up and coming artists like Jean Pierre and Nathan Barato, and even a surprise track from the Grammy nominated electro house superstar Diplo.

The first mix on the album starts off with Loco Dice’s classic track M Train To Brooklyn, followed by a touch of techno with Roger Gerressen’s Somebody Should Have Told You, and a funky groove with some deeper, housier tracks like the Matthew Styles Club Mix of Franck Rogers’ Don’t U Know and Robert Dietz’ Common. Bommersheim & Brixton’s Late Up and Federico Grazzini’s Untouchable are both forthcoming releases on Desolat, and the energy from both of these tech house bombs will have you moving from start to finish. Ending his set with a bang, Loco Dice drops Catz & Dogz & Kink’s Bad Love, a tech house track with sharp chord stabs and a sweet vocal line that make it one of the highlights of Dice’s first mix, as well as Nathan Barato’s Give It To You, another upcoming Desolat bomb with a hype vocal that drops over a slick percussive line and will unquestionably devastate the crowd at any nightclub or festival.

Loco Dice’s second mix on In The House is edgier and carries more of Dice’s personal touch and attitude that always gives life to his sets, using a little bit of hip-hop flavor and some darker techno. Glimpse’s True South is a groovy track with a deep drum sound and a dark vocal line that creates a memorable start and sets the tone for this mix, followed by Skudge’s Convolution, a dark techno banger that you could expect to hear creeping through the sound system in the early morning hours. The most surprising track on the whole album is Diplo’s electro house track Express Yourself, which has dubstep elements and hip-hop vocals, but Loco Dice manages to pull off this complete genre jump just right. Dice hits us with more dark, edgy techno, like David Alvarado’s Ysleta and Marcel Dettmann’s Ellipse, and it keeps us coursing through the set. Finally we come to Jean Pierre’s Who U Mad At?, another unreleased Desolat bomb, that is another highlight of the set; the dark, groovy percussive line, repeating vocal of “Who you mad at?”, and wide variety of techno sound effects make Who U Mad At? a definitive crowd pleaser that will have everyone on the dance floor revved up and wanting more. Loco Dice wraps up the second set nicely with Alden Tyrell’s energetic Rush and house legend Kerri Chandler’s classic Six Pianos.
