Hotmail login

The process to sign in to Hotmail is very simple. You can get access to your Hotmail inbox in a matter of minutes.

Visit the mail.live.com or hotmail.com or outlook.com home page from your preferred web browser. You can access the Hotmail domain from any of these domains.

You will be led to the sign in page of outlook.com.

In the Windows Live Hotmail page, you will see two sections on the screen. The right hand side is where you need to enter your credentials if you already have a Hotmail account. If you do not have one, you should move on to the left hand side to sign up for a new Hotmail account.

Clicking on the sign up link will take you to the Hotmail account creation page. You  will be asked to enter a few of your personal details like first and last name, country/region, birth date, gender, phone number and alternate email address when signing up for a Hotmail account. You also need to enter a username and a password that you should enter to create your account. The username or the email address that ends in hotmail.com is subject to availability. A few options will be offered by Hotmail to help you choose an available email address. You can opt for any of the suggestions offered by Hotmail or key in any username that you like. Finally, you need to enter certain characters that are seen on the sign up page to prove that you are a human being and not a robot trying to create a Hotmail account. After filling all the required fields correctly, click on the create account option to successfully complete the Hotmail account creation process.

Steps to Hotmail login

Visit the hotmail sign in page by typing www.hotmail.com or www.outlook.com in the address bar of your favorite web browser.

You will land on the outlook.com sign in page.

You will see two type boxes on the screen. This is where you should enter your Hotmail login credentials.

In the first box, you will have to enter your username that would be in the form xxx@hotmail.com. Type it correctly.

Move on to the next type box where you should enter your Hotmail sign in password. Ensure that all the characters are entered properly. Also, be sure that the caps lock is not in ‘on’ position as the password is case sensitive.

After you have entered both the fields correctly, it is time to click on the sign in option to login to your Hotmail inbox.

You will see a keep me signed in option just below the password type box. If you are using your personal computer to sign in to Hotmail, then you can choose this option. By doing so, you will not be asked to enter your email address every time you make attempt to sign in to Hotmail. Your username will be seen in the space provided for it and you just need to enter your password details to sign in to your Hotmail inbox. This will help you to get access to our inbox quickly. One thing you need to note is that you should not activate the signed in option when you are using a shared computer or a public computer. There is a chance for your valuable details to be accessed by other users using the computer. Also, ensure that you sign out of your Hotmail account every time you finish using it.

Hotmail was introduced in the year 1997 and since then it has gone through a lot of changes. The first change that Hotmail encountered was it was old by its founders to Microsoft and the Hotmail domain was allowed to remain as it is by Microsoft for some time. Then, they integrated Hotmail with the MSN home page and after a few years launched a new campaign called the Windows Live and integrated all its services including Hotmail under it. Now, Microsoft has replaced Hotmail with Outlook.com and it is the new web based email service offered by Hotmail. Even though the changes have been going on, people holding the classic Hotmail log in details can still access their Hotmail inbox. They can access it through outlook.com.
