Arriving By Taxi
Our hotel is situated right behind the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, which nearly all locals know and taxi drivers can easily locate. If you decide to take a taxi from Ataturk Airport, here’s everything you need to know:
When you exit the arrivals terminal you will see taxi line. You should have no trouble quickly getting a taxi here.
The meter begins running when you enter the taxi.
It costs approximately 60 TL (about 25 Euros or 35 US dollars), but of course the exact price is subject to change depending on traffic.
The drive takes approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on the traffic. Our hotel is located about 15 km away.
Most airport drivers know our hotel, but to be clear you can simply tell the driver the following: “Hotel Büyük Keban – Laleli. Right behind Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyesi – the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.”
Arriving by Shuttle
There is a shuttle service from Ataturk Airport to Taksim Meydanı (Taksim Square), which is very close to Hotel Büyük Keban. The Havatas shuttle agency operates frequent shuttles for 10 TL per person (about 7 Euros). The shuttles run every thirty minutes between 4:00 am and 1:00 am. Luggage is included in the cost, and the trip takes approximately 40 minutes, depending on traffic. From Taksim Square, you can then easily and inexpensively take a cab to the hotel. Our hotel is very close to Taksim Square and it costs around 12 TL (8 Euros) for the taxi. This option is quick and easy, and runs 15 Euros total. Keep in mind, however, that if you have more than three people in your group, for about the same price you can simply take a taxi from the airport to the hotel.
Arriving by VIP Pick-Up Service
Our hotel does not offer our own hotel pick-up service. However, we work with selected and trusted airport transfer companies that assure private pick-up service from Ataturk. If you would like to have this arranged, please simply send us an email and we will be happy to arrange a pick up for you and send you an email confirmation. One-way cost for a pick-up service is 35 Euros.
Arriving by Metro
Arriving at our hotel by metro is speedy, simple, and hassle-free. And it’s practically free of charge, too – a one-way trip is only about 2 TL – less than a euro! Just remember to find the ticket office and buy an Istanbulkart, which is a rechargeable card that you fill up with transportation credit. The non-refundable card costs 6 TL, and it gives you about a 10 per cent reduction in the already bargain prices on public transport. What’s more, it’s valid for up to 5 people.
The metro station at Ataturk Airport is located at the ground level. The first station on the line is the airport itself, and our hotel is located at the final station, called Aksaray – so there’s no worry about missing the stop. After exiting the metro at Aksaray, keep walking towards Laleli and make a left on Gencturk Caddesi. (Gencturk Avenue). The Hotel Büyük Keban will be on your left at the end of the street. It is an approximately 10-minute walk and a distance of about 800 meters. Inexpensive and uncomplicated – what else could you ask?
