Maxim Healthcare Services is looking for a part time Nurse Practitioner to work in an Occupational Health facility for one of the largest and most respected pharmaceutical companies in the world. Candidates must have at least one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or extensive experience working as an RN in the Occupational Health field.

The schedule is somewhat negotiable but will most likely consist of four hour shifts every morning, Monday through Friday.

Global Occupational Health & Wellness Role Profile
Position Title: Occupational Health & Wellness Advanced Practice Provider (APP)

Position Purpose: The OHW APP is a Certified Physician's Assistant (PA) or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner(CRNP) that will provide clinical and occupational health and wellness services to colleagues within their regulated scope of practice.

Organizational Relationships: Reports to the Occupational Health & Wellness Medical Director
Works with the site EHS team
Interacts with site HR
Interacts with Legal Division
Interacts with site business groups

Resources Managed: Direct Reports: May have OHW staff as direct reports (site dependent)
Budget Responsibility: Identifies financial resources required to maintain clinical operations for sites' occupational health and wellness programming.

Experience/Education: Masters Degree in Nursing with CRNP Board Certification or
Licensed and Certified Physicians Assistant
COHN-S preferred
Suggest a minimum of 5 years experience as an OHW professional
Demonstrates experience in acute episodic care, wellness care and counseling of adults
Proficient in the use of electronic medical record keeping systems desirable

Major Responsibilities: Coordinates OHW clinical operations, including medical surveillance, OSHA record keeping, facility operations and patient care activities such as triage, counseling, patient education, sick or emergency visits, first aid, and other activities as needed.
Provides preventive medicine and wellness services/counseling; supports site health promotion and disease prevention programs.
Supervises OHW Nurse Role (site dependent).
Manages outsourced OHW services (site dependent).
Develops and updates clinical and operational procedures and protocols.
Manages the closure of site EHS medical support guideline audit findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Performs Disability and Workers' Compensations RTW case management functions.
Documents patient data in paper and electronic medical database(s), as applicable per standard protocols.
Participates on site, regional or global committees/sub-teams as assigned.

OHW Technical Competency #3: Compliance Assessment & AuditingAs applied to:
1. Occupational health program auditing
2. Medical documentation
3. Medical protocols

Responsibilities include:

Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physician in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribing necessary treatment and services for quality patient care; record the normal and abnormal data for review by the physician.

Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations; write progress notes; prepare patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings; obtain psychosocial history relevant to patient care, and assume responsibility for developing therapeutic relationships with patients.

Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.

Carry out therapeutic procedures such as cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes; monitor progress of patients, report progress to supervising physician, and maintain record of each patient's progress, consulting with supervising physician when patient's progress does not meet anticipated and/or predetermined criteria.

Provide patient education.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

Work requires completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Active state nursing license required.

Prefer at least 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a hospital or related medical facility.

Must pass all required Maxim screening tests with an 80% or greater.

Clear criminal background screening.

Current BLS card.

ACLS/PALS per contract requirement.

Current TB results or chest x-ray.

Current physical exam per state regulations or contract requirements.
