Louise Thrussell, General Manager, Hilton Sheffield

Louise Thrussell has been appointed the new General Manager of the Hampton by Hilton Sheffield, overseeing both the hotel and the adjacent Marco’s New York Italian restaurant.

The 35-year-old, who has relocated to the region from Luton for the role, brings almost two decades of experience within the hotel industry to the post, having worked her way up from her first job as a guest service assistant in 2002.

Since then, Louise has climbed the ranks, building an impressive CV of extensive hotel management and operations experience, as well as achieving accolades such as ‘General Manager of the Year’ twice with past employers.

Louise now joins the Sheffield team from her previous role as General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express Dunstable.

Louise, said: “I’m thrilled to have joined the team here in Sheffield and to be bringing my skills to a busy city-centre hotel.

“For me, hotel management is all about the people and delivering the very best experience for our guests.

“We’re lucky to have a fantastic team here, both in the hotel and the restaurant next door, and I’ll be working closely with them to continue the establishment’s success over the coming months and years.”

Housed within the former West Bar Green police station, the Hampton by Hilton Sheffield and adjacent Marco’s New York Italian restaurant opened to the public in spring 2014, following an extensive refurbishment of the site.

Louise added: “Sheffield has so much to offer, both in terms of corporate and leisure travel and hospitality. I’m looking forward to meeting people and businesses in the area to forge new links and further build on the city’s position as a destination of choice.”
