Elegant, stylish and at the cutting edge of design, a new generation of heating products are changing the way hotels keep their guests warm. Smart Fire UK specialises in heating solutions for the hospitality sector, counting the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the May Fair Hotel and Chelsea Harbour Hotel among its clients. Others include Malmaisson in Dundee, Hyatt Regency in Birmingham and the soon to open Village Urban Resort in Aberdeen. It’s design led heating solutions offer efficiency, practicality and are greener than traditional alternatives.

New to its collection is the cutting edge Bromic Tungsten Smart-Heat Portable, a stylish outdoor heater. Smart Fire UK is the sole distributor of Bromic in the UK. At just over two metres tall, the slim design and black finish allows it to blend into the background, heating the space without ruining the ambience of the venue. It can heat a 20m2 size area with a heat output of 11.7Kw, more than seven times the output of a traditional outdoor heater. Its design means it is extremely portable and easily stored with features including a pivoting head and precise heat control. Also featuring in the Bromic range are the electric Tungsten Smart-Heat and the gas Platinum Smart Heat. Available in four models of varying heat power, the electric Tungsten Smart Heat is an infrared electric heater with precise dimming controls to vary the heat output.

The weatherproof heater can be mounted on both wall and ceilings and is equipped with a special reflector for radiant heat output. It’s low glow helps to create the perfect ambience whatever the setting. The gas Platinum Smart Heat is suitable for the most exclusive of outdoor environments with its brushed steel casing and tinted ceramic face. It creates an ambient glow, ensuring even heat distribution and can be mounted on a wall or ceiling. Other popular designs within the hospitality industry include EcoSmart’s Fire Box and VB2 burner in a traditional fire surround, all for use internally.

The elegantly designed HEATSCOPE range of Infrared heaters effectively and economically heat the environment outdoors too where choice of positioning and subtlety is important. The heating element is hidden behind a sleek black facia which lets out no light. An adjustable bracket and efficient directional spot heating means you can heat specific areas. Bio-ethanol fuel is becoming increasingly popular both as a green fuel and a cost effective way to heat a room.

The EcoSmart Firebox 1200ss is a lightweight stainless steel firebox in a long, slim design, which burns bio-ethanol fuel. Bespoke units can be created to suit unique locations. Fireboxes can be seen at the South Place Hotel, May Fair Hotel and Vapiano. The EcoSmart VB2 burner allows the easy conversion of existing traditional fireplaces into clean burning bio-ethanol fireplaces. The purpose designed stainless steel burners fit within the grate of a fireplace and can be dressed with chosen accessories.Outdoors, the EcoSmart Styx, Cyl, Mix 850 Fire Bowl and Mini T are all popular choices.

The award winning Styx has been created by designer Hiroshi Tsunoda and consists of different sized tubular stainless steel sticks, secured around a bio-ethanol burner to recreate a traditional campfire. The Mix Fire Bowl blends the simplicity of an outdoor fire pit with contemporary design making it perfect for courtyards, patios, pool decks and terraces. The Mini T, which stands just 462mm high is ideal for intimate gardens and outdoor dining within your bar or restaurant. Paul Holt, business manager at Smart Fire UK said: “Heating has come a long way over the last decade and we can offer hotels, bars and restaurants a wealth of heating solutions.

“The design led collection includes greener, more environmentally friendly designs, to ones that can heat large areas, and those that can be directed to heating specific spots.

“Bio-ethanol fuel offers customers huge scope when it comes to where to install a fire. Because they do not need a chimney or flue, they can be situated anywhere. With an independent supply of fuel, the fire does not need to be near a supply of mains electricity or gas.”
