Congrats to the Texas Longhorns Women’s Basketball Team! The Longhorns took home four annual Big 12 Conference awards yesterday after finishing the regular season 2nd in the Big 12 with a 15-3 conference record.

Junior point guard Brooke McCarty became the first player in Texas history to win the Conference Player of the Year award, Texas head coach Karen Aston was named the Big 12 Coach of the Year for the first time in her career, Senior guard Brianna Taylor was named the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman guard/forward Joyner Holmes was named the Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Year

Holmes, McCarty and junior guard Ariel Atkins were named to the All-Big 12 First Team, with McCarty being a unanimous selection to that team. Senior center Kelsey Lang earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention recognition

The Longhorns get ready for the Big 12 tournament which begins this Friday in Oklahoma City
