The Texas Longhorns (10-16, 4-9 Conf) traveled to Norman, OK for a battle between their Big 12 Conference rival, Oklahoma Sooners (9-16, 3-10 Conf) on Tuesday evening. The Longhorns were led by another double-double from Freshman (F) Jarrett Allen (17 PTS, 10 REBS), but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to defeat the Sooners as the Longhorns were defeated 70-66. The Longhorns still have yet to secure a victory away from Austin this year. The Sooners edged out the Longhorns on the boards 43-37, proving that second chance opportunities were crucial for securing the victory.

Oklahoma’s Jamuni McNeace turned in a solid double-double (14 PTS, 14 REBS), providing stellar minutes off the bench, but Oklahoma differentiated themselves from the charity stripe. The Sooners earned 31 shots from the free throw line, knocking down 22 of the 31 attempts (71%), compared to Texas, which went just 7-16 (43.8%) from the charity stripe. The Longhorns will host Kansas State (13-10) on Saturday at the Frank Erwin Center. Television coverage of the game can be seen on The Longhorn Network. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00pm CT.
