We have an opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join our growing Finance department, providing excellent career prospects for someone with the right attitude and ambition. In your role as Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and distributing reports for a division within the Embark Group. This includes the actual and budget financial position of the division, statutory accounts, regulatory returns and other management information requirements. You will be responsible for continuing to review and enhance the Company’s financial reporting as the business continues to evolve drawing upon experience to develop ‘best practice’ reporting suite and processes. The role will involve working closely the operational business to ensure that the management and executive teams have timely access to actual, budget and forecast data to manage their functions. What will I be doing? Key requirements of the role will involve: Production of monthly management accounts pack for the senior management team with a personal ethos to continue to improve its content Preparing all regulatory reporting Analysis and reporting of sales and expenditure Provide control and reporting on the company’s Balance Sheet, identifying areas of risk Knowledge of on line banking platforms, (BOS/RBS/Barclays/Bottomline) Liaison with report users to enhance reports and meet user requirements Support statutory, regulatory, fiscal, consolidated, cash and other financial reporting Contribute to the Hornbuckle budget/forecast process Ability to identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement Opportunities to be involved with ad hoc / project work from around the business What will I need to succeed? The ideal candidate will have two years post qualification experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) of core accounting production in a sophisticated environment, and is able to demonstrate: Sophisticated use of MS Excel and proficient in other aspects of MS Office. Extensive knowledge and the ability to design the financial control environment of a Financial Services business. Robust experience, with a track record of improving a business’s financial control. A strong work ethos with a clear desire to make a difference and get tasks completed. Experience of running small teams, setting objectives and measuring quality and output.
