Gorge Owned and Northwest Solar Communities is preparing to launch GO! Solar, a new program designed to provide outreach and education to Gorge residents about the benefits of solar power. GO! Solar will serve Hood River and Wasco Counties in Oregon, and Klickitat County in Washington. GO! is seeking information from local contractors interested in participating as selected installers. Six Rivers Dispute Resolution is adding a couple of part-time positions, according to director Marti Dane. First up, they need a part-time Intake Specialist to assist with the organization and processing of client services and data management. Gorge Grown Food Network is planning “The Picnic,” a fundraiser for the Gorge Grown Mobile Market, from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, at Rail’s End Park in Parkdale (where the Mt. Hood Railroad trains stop and reverse course). Food providers include Leah’s Lunch, Pine St. Bakery, Columbia Cochon, Herbette, Blue Bus Cultured Foods, and Lilypops. Kerry Williams and Victor Johnson of the Huckleberry Pickers will perform. Lawn games, raffles and other activities will keep the fun moving.
