Good morning friends!  Did you enjoy that extra hour of sleep as much as I did?!  Man, was that nice!  Now, I just have to teach Jordan not to wake up an hour earlier!  ;)

Today, I'm so excited to kick off the holiday season with a mini Winter Wonderland I created in the sitting room just off of our bedroom.  I've been working on it for several weeks and thought it might be too early to share this Christmas decor, but as it came together, I found myself loving it more and more! Now, I'm thrilled to have this room in our home decorated for the holidays and we love seeing how gorgeous it looks all lit up at night!

This post in in collaboration with Martha Stewart Living, and the Martha Stewart Living Holiday Collection can be found at The Home Depot.  I've linked everything so you can easily find things for your home too.  The collection is amazing and there's so much to choose from.

I decided to go with a winter white theme and touches of metallics (my favorite combo) and decked out our sitting room, which typically looks something like this.  To create a holiday magical feel, I hung lighted garland around the entryway so that it framed the space.

Pre-Lit Garland

This 9-foot pre-lit garland is so nice with the different snowy branches and petite pinecones.  It took three of them to frame the entryway, and I did actually nail it to the wall.  The hooks weren't cutting it and I didn't want it to fall! #ohhiHubby! #bettertoaskforgivenessthanpermission

Even last year, I wanted to put a Christmas tree in this space for the holidays, knowing how pretty it would be.  This year, my original plan was to find a narrow enough tree that could sit in between our two wingchairs. I was thrilled to see this 7-foot, 30-inch base diameter pre-lit beauty!  I had it sitting in the middle of the chairs at first, but I felt like the tree was overwhelmed by the furniture, so I moved one of the chairs to our living room and set the tree in the corner.  Now the tree has room to breathe and shine!  I flocked it lightly to add to the winter wonderland feel.

She's decorated with a combination of beautiful metallic shimmy ornaments and the most adorable felt animal ornaments as a nod to our 8-month old baby girl, Jordan.

Gold metallic ribbon and gold beaded garland are wrapped around the tree for more bling.  Don't be afraid to cut your ribbon or garland if it makes it easier for you to work with.  You can tuck those cut pieces into the back and no one will be the wiser.

Step ladders are definitely your friend for this process!  Especially if you're short, like me.

To ground the whole look of our winter wonderland, I added in touches of black throughout.  I'm crazy for the black and white striped wrapping paper!  And I changed out our usual rug for the cowhide leopard one we normally have under the stairs (seen here).

Wrapping gifts is something I have a love/hate relationship with.  I love doing it, as long as I start long enough in advance to not be stressing with too much to wrap at the last minute.  Starting early and playing Christmas music while drinking coffee or hot cocoa seems to be the trick to truly enjoying the wrapping process.

In fact, listening to festive, upbeat Christmas songs while decorating gets everyone in the mood.  I even put on Christmas music while I was editing this post! My husband walked into my office with a puzzled look on his face, "Are you listening to Christmas music?"  Why, yes.  Yes, I am! #andIloveit!

Our family is definitely in for a treat this year getting to celebrate Jordan's first Christmas.  We snapped these pictures while her 6-year old brother, James, was in school.  Later, when I asked if I could take his picture in here, he politely declined. #hmmm #goodluckwiththeChristmascards

At least this one's all happy baby smiles!

And so curious!

But back to the room-  I'm smitten with this view from the bathroom!

Another cool thing about this tree that I actually didn't realize when I first got it, is that it does 9 different combinations of lights that are set by a control you can step on to activate.  My son loves the flashing colorful lights and how they can blink from white to colored.

The back of the room shines with the snowy wreath with little pinecones.  It's a massive wreath,  36 inches of lighted goodness!  I painted the cord the same color as the walls so that it would blend into the background and two extension cords are plugged into the bottom of the wall so we could light the wreath and garland.

Since we don't have a chimney, our stockings are hung with care from the shelf which used to hold our television.  I must say this set-up looks way more festive than a big tv!

Aren't the deer and buck stocking holders cute?!

Even though I couldn't get cutie-pie James in this round of pics, I'm happy to have these nice ones of baby and mama that my sweet friend, Tisha took.  It's so hard to get a picture of us together since I'm usually the one holding the camera!

Our Winter Wonderland theme was completed with a cozy throw blanket and soft pillow on the chair. Perfect for curling up and relaxing and exactly the spot I captured the cutest pictures of James last year!

And faux snow, reindeers, a train, sled and firewood arranged on the back shelf with another lighted garland finish it off.

You can't go wrong with a decorative bowl full of ornaments!

And I couldn't leave you without this last little series of adorable photos of Ms. Jordan and a sweet reindeer who got surprised with a 'kiss'!

Sending y'all so much love and happiness throughout this whole holiday season!
